Thanks for this great video! My husband and I moved to SC from FL in Feb. of 2020 - right before the pandemic hit. We stayed in a really nice Airbnb for a month while searching for houses. Exactly one month later, we closed on our house. So it was pretty easy to find, and we fell in love with it and this quiet little neighborhood right away. We are just 1.5 miles down the road from Irmo, right off of Coldstream Drive, and we couldn't be happier. Btw, you won't catch me outside when the mosquitos are out. We've also had issues with yellowjackets building nests on our property a couple of years. This past year, it was paper wasps, and they were in a low-traffic area, so we let them stay, and they left when it got cold.
We were fortunate to find a home very quickly in the Irmo area (though not within the city limits, but just south of Irmo) over a year ago. We had to snag it fast, though! But, I think it was easier to find housing here then, and home prices were lower. We absolutely love our neighborhood and location. We don't feel like we are in the city, but we are so close to shopping and all the amenities--there are so many for everyone! The schools are excellent, and it feels like a small community. I'm actually glad there's not much room for housing development--I don't want it to grow or it would become like Lexington. I like it the way it is. :)
I wish it wasn't so hard to get a house there! I've been trying for months! I've finally settled on a temporary home in Lexington nearby, but planning on buying a lot and building my own. If there are any left now, after this video of this town gets out and will make it as busy/big as Lexington has become! 😔
I'm so sorry you've had trouble getting a house under contract. Irmo has so little inventory for sale right now as I'm sure your Realtor has explained. But don't give up! Building your home may be a good option for you.
@@Bellavita1111 Thanks :) Besides that they're too expensive for me, they're too big. I need a smaller home. :) That's why I came to the realization that I want to build my own :) Just had to now buy something else while I wait and will now have to move twice, which I was trying to avoid. But this video helped me realize, it will be worth the wait :)

Glad to hear that you love Irmo! Thanks for watching.
I’m from Irmo. The roads in Cuba exceed the quality of the roads in Irmo and SC. Cuba’s highway is better than any in SC.
2+2=5.

@@Lia-ih7qu good luck! Hope it all works out.
Hello, Is there a rental demand for SFH? I notice there are nice homes with HOA, are HOA landlord friendly? Thank you
Most HOAs are landlord friendly. You need to be careful in some condo communities though.
Work opportunities in your business? Former healthcare worker.
