Glenstone is an extraordinary place- much gratitude to the Rales and the Glenstone team for creating it as a sanctuary for art and reflection. I greatly appreciate this film for the insights about the holistic and intentional approach to all aspects of the design. I visited yesterday while taking a day of silence- all of the guides I encountered were supportive and gracious when I showed them my note about being in silence. I spent almost all of my time during this visit with the outdoor works- in winter, they are even more powerful in contrast with the spare landscape. It was a deeply moving day. 🙏🏽
Your soul will be touched as mine was when I visited this museum a few years ago. A place unlike any other. A must see for everyone…whether an art aficionado or not.
Brilliant film that captures this special place. 💖💖💖
We're so fortunate to live so close. My husband and I visit many times a year, in all seasons. Can't wait to go back soon to see Ellsworth Kelly again! I didn't expect to fall in love with his art they way I did.
glenstone is a wonderful gift to the world!
This video capture the experience perfectly! Thank you.
I am truly so ever grateful to the work of Emily Rales and all the staff of the Glenstone for building it into the magnificent place it has become today. I am so excited and patiently awaiting the permanent AJ work to be installed next year and look forward to seeing you all in a few weeks as I plan to visit again shortly! Can't wait to see the Karavan for a second time!
A wonderful representation of Glenstone, itself an artful experience: Nature, expression, interaction.
So grateful to live close by! What a treasure for the community
Always a pleasure to visit Glenstone. A true art, architectural and nature-lovers gem.
In some ways it reminds me of FLW's great masterpiece Fallingwater, but on a much grander scale.
Looking forward to taking in again the splendid Ellsworth Kelly exhibit and seeing "Split Rocker" in all it's summer glory.
I'll be visiting soon, in a custom $300,000 chauffeured-driven vehicle (a.k.a. 301 ride-on bus). 😏
P.S. 5:19 - The On Kawara room always take me back to the summer of 69 at a barbershop with my father, which had an overhead television on that was broadcasting the Apollo 11 mission. When I visit that exhibit, I visualize that scene from the days of my youth...
Amazing to have such a resource in our neighborhood!
We have been enjoying Glenstone since its very beginning, and have marvelled in the experience as the museum and its evirons have grown. The video is a succint reflection of the aspects of the museum that make it unique and valued. If you haven't been, it is a must see!
A wonderful representation of a wonderful, artful experience.
Glenstone is a wonderful gift to the world. It's beautiful. Unfortunately I don't share their taste in some art (the Koons Rocker, ugh) but it's their museum!
A museum experience and overall presence like few others.
An extraordinary experience!
This is such a great museum. The art is outdoors & indoors... the architecture of the buildings with the various views, the winding paths through fields, forests, wetlands. We visited for the first time during Faith Ringgold's exhibit. The whole experience was very moving. Well done, Glenstonians.
I was there last June; plan to go back soon since I missed seeing the 4 giant cylinders.
I wish it'd be easier to visit via public transportation from DC.
My sanctuary
Looks like an amazing experience!
super art
8:51 - Once of the best examples of de Kooning's work. Created at the height of his artistic powers in the mid-50's. An exquisite abstract expressionist masterpiece.
Glenstone was quite fortunate to acquire this gem.
I hope it will be included in the November Iconoclasts exhibit.
No promises about the final checklist, but we'll pass along the request to curatorial. 😉
@@GlenstoneMuseum If it won't be in the exhibit, can I take it home for a few weeks to admire in the privacy of my own home? I promise to take good care and return on time. You can verify my lending history at the library. 😉 🤣
