there's also a significant thing is that the tongue has small inlets inside the shoe so that the tongue doesn't slip like the old converse. and they definitely made the canvas material much thicker becos previously the canvas material is really cheap and will wear/tear easily
The chuck 2s is the true successor to the classic chucks
I only found out about Chuck 2s after converse stopped making them and I feel really left out. These look slick with the all white rubber walls with same colored eyelets. Wish I could still get these but I can't find them anywhere
set an ebay alert or something, I just got a new (ex display) pair of all white Converse 2's for £23
I have the Black & White pair showed here, but I painted them. I also have an All-Black pair, including the undercarriage, not the gum color. These are WAY better than the Chuck Taylor 1. Those shoes are extremely uncomfortable..
Only took converse about a hundred years to release the second version, lol

They didnt sell out around me its a nice up grade but really think they should have kept the foxing stripe. The price is a lil steep for Chucks but thats expected things will go up. But why omit the foxing stripe? smh
Has it ever occurred to anyone that you can put Dr Scholes in your old shoes plus theirs a loop in the middle of the tongue to put the laces through to prevent it from going sideways.

With the original chucks i wear size 9, a half size smaller than I usually wear. I was in a store an they had the last pair of chucks 2 and it was on sale and a size 9 so I bought it without even trying it on. Turns out they fit true to size ore even a little smaller. Nike killed it with those high prices tho as converse was always an everyman pair of sneakers.
You need to break them in. Once they’re fully broken in, you won’t regret them. No one has done a review after years of wearing them. They’re the most comfortable shoes I own. I have to admit they’re very uncomfortable in the beginning. I have them both in low top and hi top. The low tops are fully broken in. I haven’t wore the hi top ones yet. For reference, I wear a size 7 in regular chucks and chuck 70, I grabbed these in the same size. Hope you still have them.. they’re definitely slept on

The JV Converse are some of the best quality sneakers I've ever owned. They can take a unreal beaten and actually "look" better the more work they get. Although they usually come "pre-worn" look wise. I rock a pair of metallic silver leather ones to the gym for the last 3 years. Ans the sole has JUST started to come apart from feet dragging. I pick mine up on eBay for a Discount price or somewhere like Nordstroms rack. I've been a Chuck Taylor guy for a while now. I'll never go back to regular ones or 2.0 after wearing the JV variants. Worth the money.

I own these old all black high top converse and it was so uncomfortable I started getting cramps.
I would pick these up with no hesitation if they made them look just like the original models. monochromatic color ways don't look great to me, except the all black.
Concerning the width, did they get more comfortable over wears? I purchased a new fall/winter pair part of the counter climate line that comes with a neoprene lining and the narrowness is a bit uncomfortable. I may return them since they are a bit snug ...

Ya, I bought mine online, I just received them today. Too tight around the toes. So painful. I have a pair of Classic Chucks, size 7, so I went with size 7 with the Chuck II too. After wearing them for half a day, they stretched out a bit but it's still so uncomfortable. The material is so tough I don't think it will stretch out enough to be comfortable like my Classic Chucks. My Classic ones were a bit uncomfortable too at first but they quickly stretched out. Looks like I'll have to return this pair of Chuck II. Sigh.

chucks come in uk sizing which is one lower than us. so those 10s are actually an 11 us that may be the reason you have a little space in the front

Looks like I'll have to return them. Sigh. If you have other pairs of Classic Converse, I'd go with a size slightly bigger than your regular Converse unless your feet are narrow.
