I remember these shows coz they slowed down the temp of a lot of the songs. I remember when they played makin love, and it sucked being so slow. They need to play at a Led Zep pace, like from when they played it around 76-78
Great song!! I would pay money to hear/see KISS play a setlist that contains : Let me know/ mainline/ comin home/ strange ways/ anything for my baby/ sweet pain/ ladies' room/ mr. speed/ makin love/ hooligan/ magic touch/ the oath/ creatures/ rock n roll hell/exciter among others. But that's wishful thinking. Will never happen.
Love it! The End of the of the Road tour should've been two sets with a lot of deep cuts like this and what they do on the Kiss cruise shows instead of having a freakin painter or a washed up David Lee Roth opening shows. Oh well
Great song and one of my favs from Dressed To Kill! Glad it made it on DVD They still sound great. What a blast going to a KISS concert -- got to see the original members, but these guys still kill on stage. ROCK ON KISS!!!!
If you listen to interviews with Eric he will say that he was a fan before he became a member so he tells Gene and Paul what obscure songs they want to hear... and sometimes they listen! lol
The reason Tommy wants to play Ace's solos note for note is because that is what you are going to the show to hear... playing a solo his way or Ace's way, people are not going to like it either way so it really doesn't matter! Tommy has always played rock and roll blues influnced and thats all he doing!!
actually with Tommy and Eric, Gene and Paul are continuing the KISS experience, they play dead on, no flaws, very very talented guys......where I wish Ace and Pete were, these guys deliver the goods that Ace and Pete cant anymore......Ace and Pete can't handle the pressure that is put on them by Gene. What Gene says, pretty much goes.....
You're right. I bet 80 percent of the people leaving comments here didn't even know that Kiss had this ong on a album. I also love it when people come on here commenting and don't even know who they're looking at
borrowed from guitarist Robbie Krieger's solo in The Doors' "Five to One." "I steal from someone and then they steal from me and so on," Frehley said. "That's what rock 'n' roll does. It all goes back to the records from the '50s and '60s."
A good KISS-Rockin' song from "Dresseed To Kill" but older than KISS ... This was recorded by Wicked Lester and the version is available in the KISS Box-Set Listen to it ...You'll be surprised if you don't know it !
I did notice that. Just the other day in fact. Alot of musicians do that, too. They take their favored old tricks and just reverse them and such to get new songs. Pretty cool, huh?
peter, paul, gene and ace, rules, but, just when they were KISS, i mean, why they separate !!??, they were the grates thing ever !!! sorry 4 the bad english =_=
@01po01po Paul won't do that. He's happy playing the classics and doesn't want to stray too far from them. However, this was the last tour I went to see because they were playing tunes like this. I think if they did a tour without doing "Love Gun" or "Detroit", I cry from happiness.
So he can copy Pete Townsend as well. I have yet to hear anything from Thayer that impresses me, and I have looked. I saw him live with BnB 2X, with KISS 1 X and on 2 DVDs. Best I can say is "He plays Ace well."
The only thing that bothers me about Eric and Tommy is the make-up. If they played this sins make-up like the 90's line-up I cant see any Kiss fan not loving this. Tommy is dead on to Ace's solo...and we all know Ace was the man!
What percentage of the audience do you think even knew what the hell song this was? I'm thinking it's pretty low. Kudos to them for playing it. I just hate ignorant "fans" at shows who only know "hits" or are just there for the spectacle. These idiots just take up room that can be used for people who actually know the band's music.
Don't have to be. I am in a Deep Purple tribute. I play Roger's parts note for note. I am not Roger. In Deep Purple, Blackmore is replaced by Steve Morse. He doesn't dress up like Blackmore, nor does he play the songs note for note.
I like tommy because Ive heard him do his own solo's and he's very good, and he is from my home state. But I dont like the way plays the exact solo that ace played, chang it up.
Not saying that Kiss isn't still the best but without Ace and Peter the concerts are more boring like no fireworks out of guitars, guitar on fire,or even tat sparking guitar and with ace and peter more songs like beth, new york groove.......
I don't think Tommy is anything special. I saw BnB 2 X, and thought they were not all that exciting. Gene hired Tommy to paint Paul's house and get him coffee because he didn't think he'd make it in the music business. He does what Gene and Paul TELL him to. Even on Sonic Boom, he plays like Ace. I read a recent interview with him. He AIMS to play Ace note for note.. Tell me, if you think he's great, WHY you think so, rather than just cursing and insulting people.
Until the new CD comes out, Thayer is just copying Ace. On any CD Thayer has played, he copied Ace, Vinnie and Bruce. He is in KISS, But to me, he is unproven. Gene and Paul ARE KISS. ACE and Peter are KISS. Look at all the live CDs and videos. Basically Ace and Peter Era songs
Hmm - compare this to Ace Frehley's live performance of this in 2008 and realise Kiss aren't anywhere near as good as they were, plus they need Frehley back seriously. The biggest shame is that they can't get Eric Carr back.....
I'd rather pay $10 to see tribute bands that sound and look better than this half tribute band that I still have to pay full price to go see. Pathetic.
whatever.....have u ever heard alive 2?. Bob cant play any ace solos because his playing is geriatric. Listen to nowhere to run off killers. Bob was never up to scratch. He has carried a chip on his shoulders about ace for years. Have another cone bob
How sad to see Thayer & Singer dressed and made up as Ace & Peter. I mean come on. Even if you are a true Kiss fan, And yes I am! you have to admit this era is just way past worn out.
Kiss should do a set list of songs very rarely played or never played. Love to hear this classic, from the very beginning of Kiss.....
This song should have been released as a single after Rock and Roll all Night!..It would have been a hit I'll bet!
Paul Stanley The Greatest American Rock and Roll Star Ever
KISS's "catchiest song"!
Eric singer is great, please, all of them are great.
This song is wonderful as Gene and paul sing together as one.
I LOVE KISS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
definitely one of their best songs----I wonder why they didnt put this one on Kiss alive? Great tune.
besides having been mixed by a deaf person, this show has one of the greatest performance and setlist by kiss ever
I remember these shows coz they slowed down the temp of a lot of the songs. I remember when they played makin love, and it sucked being so slow. They need to play at a Led Zep pace, like from when they played it around 76-78
Cool. They sound JUST like KISS
Excellent song
I LOVE this song!
Of course you do
I just love this song... simply amazing...

Now that's Rock and Roll Guitars Drums and a love story
やっぱりライブ行きたいです
I agree,Tommy is very good,and dependable too.
The reason Tommy wants to play Ace's solos note for note is because that is what you are going to the show to hear... playing a solo his way or Ace's way, people are not going to like it either way so it really doesn't matter! If you were a true Kiss fan it wouldnt matter.
tommy's to bloody good
良い作品ですよね❤❤
Poor Paul could just about pull it off still then .
Much more versatile setlist instead of what they're forced to program now
esta cancion es alucinante
KISS WILL NEVER BE AS GOOD AS WHEN ACE PLAYED.
Ace & Peter are gone deal with it
My favorite too!! YEEEEAH!
finally someone who says that you rigt dude "!!
You're right. I bet 80 percent of the people leaving comments here didn't even know that Kiss had this ong on a album. I also love it when people come on here commenting and don't even know who they're looking at
I like your Gene Simmons picture
Best song ever.
damn!!! this version rocks!!! i honestly think theyre better with tommy and eric now a days!
yeah yeah!!!!!!!!! los amoooooo
borrowed from guitarist Robbie Krieger's solo in The Doors' "Five to One."
"I steal from someone and then they steal from me and so on," Frehley said. "That's what rock 'n' roll does. It all goes back to the records from the '50s and '60s."

@FlippedNwO
No Ace & Peter = No Kiss....
But why do i keep goin to see them.....
Im a Kiss Junkie
- loved, LOVED frehley on his last tour (jan 2010)
these are the songs they should have brought out on the 96 tour.
Tommy handles that Bob Kulick solo nicely. Yes. Bob Kulick played that solo on "Dressed To Kill" among others. Not Ace...
I did notice that. Just the other day in fact. Alot of musicians do that, too. They take their favored old tricks and just reverse them and such to get new songs. Pretty cool, huh?
Ace Frehley was playing exactly the same solo note for note from "the doors, five to one". That's what icedog 3131 meant!
peter, paul, gene and ace, rules, but, just when they were KISS, i mean, why they separate !!??, they were the grates thing ever !!!
sorry 4 the bad english =_=
yeah i think they should play more songs from the 80:s to
@01po01po Paul won't do that. He's happy playing the classics and doesn't want to stray too far from them. However, this was the last tour I went to see because they were playing tunes like this. I think if they did a tour without doing "Love Gun" or "Detroit", I cry from happiness.
@KMH4021 I like when it's loud, but not when is so loud that I can hear more noise than music.
paul is god of rock
The Alive 35 solo was written by Tommy
According to Bob Kulick he was all over that record. Also Side 4 of of ALIVE II.
Kisses ! Gd. Tiune. Kisstory. B. D. !
Have you seen Tommy's guitar solo of the Alive 35 tour??
damn! this fuckn rocks!!! i honestly think theyre better nowadays with tommy and eric!
i heard new kiss album 2011 :D
Anyone notice how the intro riff is backwards from "Got To Choose"? Same exact chord structure. just reverse.
holy shit, paul looks good for 60...
Uhh, HELL YEAH!!!
ohhh, too bad... =/ peter used to be m favorite LOL thkns 4 the answear :D
How about the solo from the song She that Ace "borrowed". I guess that was ok huh.
@keyblok you know what KISS says If it's too loud, you're too old! :D not trying to be mean but that is what they say
So he can copy Pete Townsend as well. I have yet to hear anything from Thayer that impresses me, and I have looked. I saw him live with BnB 2X, with KISS 1 X and on 2 DVDs. Best I can say is "He plays Ace well."
@Scorpions73230 sweeeeeeeeet :D
just like Ace
The only thing that bothers me about Eric and Tommy is the make-up. If they played this sins make-up like the 90's line-up I cant see any Kiss fan not loving this. Tommy is dead on to Ace's solo...and we all know Ace was the man!
Right now Paul's actually 57, but I get what you mean.
Is this Star Child from the gas station ? This is Grave, I gave you a dollar for a beer today on west front st
What?
Did he play on that record?
I daught it
Year?
eric doesn't play peter's fills to every exact beat like tommy copies ace's notes.
Just letting ya know that Ace Took someone elses solo too.

Blame that on Gene and Paul, they write the checks.
Just saw Ace do this song on the 21st of March in NYC. Sorry, he is much better than Tommy.
@DidYouJustMakeThatUp I already did.
what about eric then ? is he coping peter?? ps look on kiss lick it up in argentina quimes rock something like that tommy plays a riff from THE WHO
tommy and bob kulick are lovers
Is it too loud, or is my headphone turning into crap?
@starchild
GREAT SONGS TOO BAD ITS WITH THE SCRUBS
what ever.....bob kulick is a sad old pothead. Who never forgave ace for beating him for the lead spot in kiss
I like tommy because Ive heard him do his own solo's and he's very good, and he is from my home state. But I dont like the way plays the exact solo that ace played, chang it up.
How come Paul isn't even trying?
言ったじゃない。好きな音楽もあれば嫌いな曲もある。て。
Excellent point...who would want to copy Peter the swinging big band schooled whiner.???Eric even sang Beth better than the gravel throated Kitty Kat.
Not saying that Kiss isn't still the best but without Ace and Peter the concerts are more boring like no fireworks out of guitars, guitar on fire,or even tat sparking guitar and with ace and peter more songs like beth, new york groove.......
Then you should understand Tommy's position and not put him down, like he's nothing special.
Pathetic.
That's his job,Gane and Paul demand it,...none of you Kiss Love Guns want to hear anything else.Just Ace's old hat.Slow and slopy!!
whatever.....have u ever heard alive 2?. Bob cant play any ace solos because his playing is geriatric. Listen to nowhere to run off killers. Bob was never up to scratch. He has carried a chip on his shoulders about ace for years. Have another cone bob
Holy shit where did you learn to speak english? Brosetta Stone? Or maybe ebonics r us.
love kiss .... hate stanley
stanley = gay
How sad to see Thayer & Singer dressed and made up as Ace & Peter. I mean come on. Even if you are a true Kiss fan, And yes I am! you have to admit this era is just way past worn out.
