Yes/No... different channels and different voicings. The design is based around the XXX with Resonance and Presence Controls and a Noise Gate. Each channel is from different amps and voiced with more gain. Cheers -Ryan
Everytime the dual rec is compared, it pretty much always loose. Sometime I wonder why it remain the go to amp of so many guitar player, including myself. I am irrelevant but that is still my go to amp for live gig, the Roadking that is.
It's one of those amps... I have a Love/Hate with it and my Road King 1... sometimes I can't even have it in the same room... other times it's the only thing I want to plug my guitars into. Cheers -Ryan
Hi. Thanks for the great video comparison. For me Recto. Do you have some solid state amps to put it against some of the tube studio classics. Something like Randall or Ampeg VH 140C, or Marshall ValveState? I always realy liked and enjoyed your guitar solos bye the way. Sorry on my bad English.
I'm not really a Solid State Guy. I like playing loud and with a lot of Solid States they don't really perform well at loud volumes. I wouldn't mind a Marshall Valvestate Head, though. Just because when I was 14 I would always play through one at my local music store. Cheers -Ryan
I’m running 6L6 Tubes, rather than EL34 so using the silicon diode Rectifier, rather than the Tube Rectifier. The amp can really start to sag with the Tube Rectifier. I hope you understand that all of the power and preamp tubes are still running and it’s only the rectifier that is not tube. Silicon Diode Rectifier is considered high power, rather than Tube Rectifier being Normal power. Cheers -Ryan
@@Crypticmaskguitar This is why I love the road king. You can choose rectification types for each channel. Tube for channel 1 and 2, Diodes for 3 & 4 is my go to.
This was way closer than I thought it would be - these amps do sound similar. Dealer’s choice.

JSX is great with 6L6’s
I put GT EL34s in mine. It slays.
I like to listen to these comparison, and then, how it help or ruin the drums. And then you undestand why the mids matters in an amp :P
JSX hands down thicker...the Rec is brighter, thinner. JSX is a monster in a live setting clean and dirty.

There's nothing like a mesa rectifier amp (cloned doesn't count). Unique sound that sometimes it fits and sometimes you can't be used
