These videos are a godsend. I saw Sibley & Dowell many, many times in this wonderful ballet from the beginning and for me no one, not even otherwise very great dancers rehearsed by them, has ever approached their perfection in these roles.
This is why we have Antoinette Sibley and Anthony Dowell coach the ballets they were in. They understand the correct style for the Ashton and McMillian works. There is always room for interpretation as you grow into the role but when you are learning it, or reviving it, you need to understand the nuances of the work, not just the choreography. This is a treasure.

I'm very new to Dowell and Sibley. But I find Sir F. Ashton very critical of Sibley's dancing 😅 I wonder why. Wasn't she the original Titania???
