    Thanks so much! I had so much stuff in my college dorm that I needed to take home. I hooked it up to my mom's kia soul.

    Your video saved me 100s! Just finished getting it on and used your video for a walk through when I forgot what to do next! This item fits a base kia soul 15 like a glove! Keep up the great work!
    My 2 cents: maybe add chapters so people can find your valuable information faster 🤷

    Nice, clear video! Thanks!
    I suggest you avoid the hitch adapter and buy a ball insert that fits directly. The extra length greatly increases the load on the 4 mounting bolts due to the increased lever arm. Picture a long crow bar pushing down on the rear bolts and up on the front bolts - the longer the crow bar, the more the torque.

      Well thought out. Thank you. It should be known ive towed around 4000lbs with this now. Not advisable. But in a pinch i had to get cement bags from home depot about 2 miles away. Little soul did great. But brakes are deffinately not up to the load task.

      @@thousanddollarcarguy Scary! There's always a safety factor built in, but I'd hate to be using a lot of it and then hit a pothole.

    I wonder if this job is relatively the same with the new generation Kia Soul

    Did you have trouble with muffler rubbing on hitch?

    I see your in Fla. Would you want to come to the Cape Coral and help a 71 yr old who also has a lot of issues that keep me from bending or that kind of motion? Wouldn't mind paying you!

    Where were you able to find torque info? I have a 2013 soul, l called kia and they didn't know.

    • @thousanddollarcarguy
      @thousanddollarcarguy 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The info comes from the hitch manufacturer not from kia. Because kia doesnt technically approve of these kits. So i recommend you find tbe tq specs from the producer of your trailer hitch kit. Best of luck!

    Does this work with electric Kia souls?

    • @thousanddollarcarguy
      @thousanddollarcarguy 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question. I cant answer it quickly for you. Im not sure you would even want to tow ad it would probably put a very large amount of unwanted load on the transmission. If you go on amazon and look at this hitch in the link you may be able to put in your year and make of the kia and see if amazon tells you if it fits or not.

      @@thousanddollarcarguy thanks, I wouldn't use it to tow, I would use it to put one of those hitch racks since there's not much space in back

    *BE WARNED:* 1:40 those little screws are a *_MASSIVE_* PITA! First, make sure you use a #1 phillips head; these screws are incredibly wimpy & will strip if you just look at them cross-eyed. And keep a prybar handy; sometimes they don't want to come out even when the screw is fully backed out. And I had to pull the wheels to get at them; there was no alternative, no way to get a screwdriver in there. The worst part of the job!
