    Day 1358. I forgot what deloads are. I still vaguely remember what brought me here. Dr. Mike said in one of his videos to really try to go to above MRV once, just so see what its like. That point never came. I am up to 69 sets per muscle group per workout. I have to bring my own plates to my gym now because they dont have enough for me to get an adequate stimulus. After yesterdays chest workout in which i benched 1000 kilos for 20 reps with two barbells, one in each hand, my wife called me crying and told me she cant take it anymore. i havent been at home for over a year because my workouts take so long. I don't need her. All i need to do is find my MRV. I have become muscle. I have become hypertrophy. Thanks Dr. Mike.

      Yeah. I used to feel bad about not bench pressing anymore, because I noticed that my shoulders were getting absolutely ravaged by the end of each meso cycle. I switched to a machine chest press, and the stimulus to fatigue is so much better, while allowing me to train to complete muscular failure safely.
      I still use barbells, but for stiff leg deadlifts or squats intermittently.

    Hey guys! Thanks again for the great content! I'd like to ask a question about the 20+ rep sets.
    I train in the 6/12 rep range cause I think it's a closer to correct measure of my abilities over time, theoretically. I also get, that when you get really strong and developed these might be more productive but do you think high rep sets, even done rest pause style are a good way to track progress or is this more of an a intensity technique to avoid injury pre contest cause you guys are so strong?

    I don't get how myoreps work. If you have to do 3 sets of Inverted Skullcrushers and you got 25 in the first time, you gotta do do 25 reps in each following set resting a few seconds?
    Set 1: 25 reps
    Set 2: 15+5+5+5 reps
    Set 3: 12+5+3+3+3 reps
    It's that correct?

    • @mrchariybrown
      @mrchariybrown 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Myoreps itself just means clusters of reps spread apart by about 3-5 seconds tops to create one total set.
      You don't necessarily have to total the same number of reps in subsequent sets. Mike is doing that in this video as an intensity technique to get the proper SFR for his final week of training before his show.

      @@mcdermott9656 I've done it for bicep and tricep training so far. I don't think it's been long enough to notice any significant change visually or with the measuring tape however I will say that it does seem to make the same volume of work more impactful (I actually get mild DOMs using this method, my arms hadn't been sore in years prior) which I guess is a good indicator that stimulus is occurring.
      It's a good way to hit more high intensity reps per session without drastically increasing overall tonnage.

    Dr. Mike: what do you think is the reason people such as myself have the complete inability to gain any upper pectoral development? Not that it matters so much to me these days now I'm a little older, but I never really understood why no matter how hard I train or what type of exercises I do, I don't get the pec split down the sternum and the upper half of my chest remains flat as a board. Is this just shitty muscle insertions and poorly aligned clavicles? I never liked doing bench press because I couldn't get any chest activation in it either. 5'10, 188 lbs caucasian so not skinny or unable to build muscle generally, if that helps.

Thats your two mini-sets. And that basically counts as if you did three sets. You can do 2-5 mini-sets. Its a way to do a lot of work in the gym in a short amount of time.
