Got mine in 2006 and was not told anything. Have short bowel, high ouput always liquid. On TPN 4 times a wk, cant tolerate sports drinks due to most having whey in them for protein and severe heartburn so Im chronically dehydrated with kidney stones and rapid hrt beat. I feel like it would be like a colonoscopy prep everydat. Its exhausting and has caused many health issues. No quality of life. Been on every biological, none gave improvement. For years my body stole what it needed from my bones, muscles and teeth.
Even though this is a good idea, I'm currently on HD (haemodialysis) so ive got limit my fluid intake and sports drinks are a no no as my potassium would rise to dangerous levels, I've now had my ostomy for just over a year is.
The hair tie idea is a good one!
why didn't my nurse tell me these things upon discharge? Thank.
Or hospital dieticians
in england we never get this information when we have got a stoma. great video

Great video. I’m a little disappointed in my care team.
Wasn’t told about 1/3+2/3.
