I found that when I turned aging speed down I had far too many players being studs into their late 30s and early 40s. I only play on default now and have had multiple players pass Bonds in career HRs and pitchers who remained dominant into their late 30s. If anything I think OOTP struggles to generate outlier international and HS prospects who can bypass rookie-ball and make an impact in the majors before the age of 21. I don't think a single player in my 30+ year sim made their MLB debut before the age of 21. I'm not keen to change dev speed, however.
Thanks for that insight! I have seen quite a few home run milestones on /r/OOTP and I haven't done a deep dive into it in a while, so I think you gave me my next video idea. I'm going to run default settings versus the slowed aging and look into the results.
I don't think so. The only possibility that comes to mind is maybe you could disable it when importing from a previous OOTP but I'm not sure that would work either.
Love the video! I’ve been using your Ootp league settings the last 2 years and I like the way the sims work out. Keep up the great work!
glad they're working well for you! thank you for the kind words and feedback! :D
thanks for the video! Any idea if most of these settings are applicable for OOTP 25? Getting ready for a new dynasty run. 😊
