The first 3 HP games were so magical. The artstyle being loosely based on the art of the books, and the castle layout being mostly original really helped bring up that magical feeling. Not even going to mention the original music. The later games being so closely tied to the movies kind of limited their creativity and, in a way, ruined the atmosphere and the magic.
The later games were incredibly lazy (!in terms of creativity!) cash grabs that were obviously directed by "suits" who didn't even understand videos games but wanted to play it safe. I gave up on HP games after The Order of The Phoenix, which was basically some kind of movie-version Hogwarts simulator where you couldn't even die or lose. And most of the budget went to voice actors and advertisements and less on developers who could actually create a decent game if they were allowed to. Another important thing that changed: first three games had different versions on every platform during the times when lazy and broken ports were common . So, that was a huge plus, you could buy the game three times and actually own three different versions of it! That was truly magical. Only later did the publisher pick the easy route and chose to port exactly the same game to every platform.
The old Harry Potter games will always hold a special place in my heart, that being said, a splendid let's play channel! You have gained a sub from me 😁
The past few years more and more videos are uploaded about this game, and mainly about the music. I'm happy to enjoy the nostalgia. This videos great as well, quite entertaining.
hi from Russia! Since I bought steam deck and wondering what game should I play on it, I remember there was my favorite games about Harry Potter in my childhood, that perfectly fits into steamdeck possibilities! Now Im playing HP2 and rly enjoy this, and youtube diceded to offer my your videos, they are rly cool and funny! T.y. for content, make more!
These games wound even run on a phone. Although to be fair you'd probably need a windows XP emulator to make the games run.. How did you do it on the steam deck? I thought that it had linux?... Also can I ask how did you buy the steam deck in Russia? I thought that steam no longer worked there? Greetings from Poland
@@MiSt3300 about xp and emulator - steam deck uses wine like emulator called Proton. It's pretty native, in most cases u don't have to do something special, just install and run the game.
I played this game when it first came out in 2002 when I was 10. Still the best Harry Potter game to date! 😍 the PlayStation 2 version is awesome as well!
I have no idea why TH-cam recommended this video to me but hey, why not. I remember those games from my childhood - trying to get all the cards, secrets and the like. My younger brother really liked to watch me playing them. I think in this one there was a bugged secret in the Chamber that didn't count for statistics? And there was a bug when sometimes during the cutscene when Harry, Loсkhart and Ron descended into the Chamber the game just, well, stopped? Like, characters just stood there, blinking and all, but not doing anything? Anyway, I think this game was actually the best of the series. PoA really lacked content (PC version atleast) and later ones were too movie-fied and grindy. Anyway, nice video. I'll check others. P.S. Mandatory "my English sucks, sorry for inconvenience".
1. It was still a Zelda Clone at this point, it wasn't until Goblet Of Fire that the games started to look good or feel true to the books and atmosphere of Hogwarts 2. I think even PS2 was in the market in 2002, this was released for PS1.

you are absolutely right. I'd pay to get a crowdfunding started with all the devs from KnowWonder (who made the 3 OG games)
