As far as I can see, the actual truth is that we are dead, not sanskrit. We can not anymore penetrate into the living spirit of this sublime language, so we proclaim it as dead.

I liked the way This great Aacharya has destroyed Pollock's false claims with a smile. happy to know that Sanskrit is still taught, debated and very vital. I wish to learn Sanskrit one day from a guru like Shri Satyanarayana Dasa!

This awareness should be brought to a national level or even in international level. It is the moral obligations of all to protect our culture, not allowing Pollock or any outsider to destroy it systematically by brainwashing politicians in Bharat. Murty is a business man and has made lot of money by putting many youngsters to slavery, not independent thinking. For many, money is everything. The more money they have, the more powerful they become. We must have the courage to speak out strongly and categorically against this strategic attack against our culture and dharma. Dharma is the very core of our life and let's protect it.

I live in a different country and I am not an Indian national. When I walk around my neighborhood in the morning I hear the unmistakable Sanskrit slogas over the airwaves. I hear Gayathri mantra chanted by seniors several times a day. When I walk into Temples I hear the priests doing archana in beautiful Sanskrit. In weddings I hear Sanskrit. A majority of names of people are Sanskrit mames. I am exasperated by Pollock’s preposterous claim. I am happy you have taken the bullock by the horns

The most damaging thing is our own people believe in Sheldon Pollock. If someone in aboard say anything about India it doesn't matter as long as people doesn't believe blindly.

Works of Adishankara etc are quoted on daily basis for most philosophical understanding and cultural education. This itself shows the vitality of samskrit in 21st century.

Mr. Pollock may be in pressure from Vatican as they are fully aware that our culture is the one thing which have strength enough to catapult the world to love and peace which will hinder their progress towards a war market economy. He and the organization for which he works may think for a moment that their sinister game plan is being well executed but what they do not realize is that they are feeding fuel to the ultimate revival and revitalization of our ancient heritage. Guess what? I was taught Sanskrit in my school days and after that I was never around the language any more. But this insinuation against this beautiful language impulsed me to once again delve deep in Sanskrit. I have ordered a basic Sanskrit vyakaran course book and am adamant in learning every basic aspect of it to be able to provide my support to safeguard our Cultural heritage from these stooges.

POLLOCK IS A WESTERNER WANTS TO DESTROY BY FALSE & IRRESPONSIBLE ACCUSATIONS STATING SANSKRIT IS DEAD, SANSKRIT WILL NEVER BE DEAD, UNLIKE LATIN.
PEOPLE IN INDIA MUST PUT AN END TO SUCH IRESPONSIBLDE CLAIMS.
NEHRU/INDIRA/RAJEEV/SONIA-ITALIAN GANDHI DYNASTIES OF CONGRESS WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR TRYING TO DESTROY SANSKRIT & TRYING TO SUPRESS FACTS DISTORT HISTORY TO PLEASE NON HINDU/BUDHIST/JAINS/SIKHS POPULATIONS LIKE MUSLIMS CHRISTIANSFOR GETTING THEIR SUPPORT & VOTES. THAT WHY CONGRESS DESTROYED INDIA.
ALL THE LANGUAGES OF INDIA HAS SANSKRIT AS IT IS THE MOTHER OF ALL LANGUAGES.

What about other languages of India?
Is anyone doing anything about it?
Languages such as Tamil could disappear by next century.
Hindi of course is being protected by the Govt.

Tamils will be responsible for it .... in name of Dravidian movement- idiots have tried to prove that Tamils are separate forgetting and abusing their own ancestors who were great Hindu kings and made great temples.... Sanskrit is pervasive and trying to call themselves - they forget even word Dravidian - is Sanskrit .... and It has become fashionable to look down upon anyone who doesnot speak English and Hindi is replaced by Hinglish and will slowly by English ...... unless and until we realise that we all are fundamentally united by the same great thoughts of Upanisad - the problems will become more complicated ... Sanskrit is ever living .... it will help on keeping all other languages alive ....

nathenpeter7 it is because of English medium education. This education making us dumb and also killing our languages. So raise your voice to ban English medium education and only provide education in mother tongues.

Tamil will not disappear only if her sister Sanskrit is allowed to thrive. All Tamil Kings allowed both languages to thrive. Sanskrit has enriched all Indian languages from Kashmir to Kanyakumari including Tamil. Other languages destroy; Sanskrit alone makes other languages live and get enriched.
