We have the same boat, it’s a 2006. We have it powered with twin Yamaha 150s. It’s been a ton of fun so far - this is our third year with it now.

That’s awesome! I love mine. Solid safe boat. I’m considering going to twins in a year or so. Want to get out further. Thx u for the comment.

That is some serious transformer trailer.

Hi again! How has your single 300 hp been with this boat? One of our 2006 Yamaha Twin F150 just crapped out. Now have to consider repowering with twins again, or with a single 250 or 300. The single engine repower is more affordable for sure.

I love the engine. It’s been a work horse. I have a dealer right in the next town over from me too. That’s huge when considering a repower. Service is key.

@@robbymacoutdoors.6250 does the boat handle okay? Is the hole shot good? Do you have a general idea of cruising speed and WOT speeds? Just trying to make an educated decision on the best way to repower.

Nice vid. How far have you been offshore? I trailer a smaller boat but upgrading soon and use the same boat launch and fish the same areas.

We run about 30miles for tunas. I will run the boat to Belmar in August and go out of there. We do good when we run out. This boat crushes it . I’m amazed how it pushes through the rough stuff. The 300 Zuke is the perfect engine for it too.

Nice. You had a 250hp on there when you got it? Was it a slug or doable? My current 18’ boat has the maxed out hp and performs great. Would never want an underpowered boat again. And I assume you choose to not own a trailer and just store at home on stands and store in slip during the season? How do people manage flushing outbounds during early and very late season when marina shuts off water access as temps drop. I have a lota questions as i embark on this upgrade. Ive been freshwater boating/fishing for over 25 years but have alot to learn in the salt n bigger boats.

@@uzerozero6399 yes it did have a Yam 250. Was a bit of a slug . Was the older first gen 4 stroke. The Zuke is a lot stronger and way more torque. Amazing on fuel. Even loaded down it never seems to struggle . Plus service is so accessible for me. I wet slip it so a trailer wouldn’t be cost effective since it would be a pricey investment. I have access to one when I do need one. I like it on stands so I can prep the bottom better. Trailer makes that so difficult. My marina is only 5 minutes away. So it’s not a long ride when I move it. Also a lot cheaper than winter storage zero worry when big storms roll in during off season.

Is wrapping it at the end of the season cost-prohibitive? Seems like that would save a lot of work come spring. Thanks for the interesting video! Subscribed!

When I bought this boat it came with a canvas winter cover that the previous owner had made for it. It does a great job. So being able to use it every year is a cost savings. It’s when I uncover to do all the make ready stuff it gets loaded with debris from my property. I have wrapped boats I’ve owned in the past. Definitely a great way to store. My friend has the equipment and helped me do it in the past and that kept down the cost of a pro doing it. Thx u so much for subscribing.

Too bad you couldn't get the yellow stain at the waterline on the port bow removed.

I know with all the boat work I’ve done this off season I just didn’t get to it. I’ll get it later on.
