    I just saw this on the BGE FB page and went straight to TH-cam and found your videos, made it tonight and it was fabulous! I also liked the idea of the burner thing to keep the dutch oven off the plate setter. Thanks for the tips!

    This looked dadblasted good! I ain't got no Green Egg but I do have a campfire and a lot of patience for some good chili smoked just like you did there...gonna give this idea a go inside the Ring-of-fire Bushcraft style...

    Awesome video, not the first time I follow one of your recipes and will be doing this tomorrow night. Slightly smaller as my Dutch oven is only 3.5QT but should do the trick with 1LB of beef.

    Looks delicious! Haven't tried to make the chili on the smoker. Did smoke the hamburger and then put everything in the crock pot.

    Not the first time I've found one of your videos. Well done and thanks for sharing all your information! Where did you get the "ring" you took off your egg? I've got an XL and haven't seen that before. I'm gonna try this this weekend and definitely appreciate your sharing!

    Did you need to stir the chili mixture before you put the hamburger in?

    • @dameamazing3103
      @dameamazing3103  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ken Currin no not necessarily. You have to stir the meat in so it gets stirred at that time anyways. Funny I'm making a batch right now...cold day here in GA!

      Yeah every chilly day brings it up again on blogs, pages etc. Only way I do chili now. Easy to tweak to your own personal recipe.

    Good work man, especially for your first try. I know you used a probe. But what time do you recommend on the smoker total at 250 degrees

    • @dameamazing3103
      @dameamazing3103  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Big John Thanks! 2 -2.5 hours...but internal temp is your best measuring stick...

    Nice job on the video. After all the hundreds of posts in the FB group about this method, nice to see someone finally video it.
    Looking fwd to trying it over the holidays and will probably end up doing a little sauté of the veg/garlic in the Dutch oven before adding the beans/tomatoes for an added layer. Thanks!

      Yeah I wanted to run it as "advertised" to see what that got me. I too have a few things I'd like to add...it's chili...you can definitely play with the final product! Thanks for watching!

    • @dameamazing3103
      @dameamazing3103  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Daniel Hunter I'm sure you could...as long as you have room, can maintain temp and generate smoke.
