  • Deep beneath the bustling streets of Singapore lies a subterranean world that few have seen or heard of before.
From an enormous life-saving structure under a UNESCO World Heritage site and long-lost military bunkers getting a second lease of life, to laboratories for psychological experiments, and secretive rave parties, we follow a series of intrepid explorers, urban farmers, engineers, scientists and clandestine party-goers as they re-discover and re-imagine what life underground in Singapore could be like.

Many years ago when a teenager I worked part time for Stilton cheese dairies in the Vale of Belvoir, Leicestershire, England. All dairies were completely deep cleaned prior to manufacture. I one dairy had fungi invasion or the cheese mould mutated production was stopped, product was scrapped and the dairy deep cleaned. The other companies then provided the affected dairy with fresh cultures to preserve the ancient mould. PURITY was everything. This is an age old practice. Singapore needs to do the same. Good luck!

A lot of Canadian land is in permafrost state, or at very minimum, long winters and short summers. Not that they don’t want to achieve, but it’s also pretty limited. Geographically situated very up north also means it’s away from all international trade routes, except for internal consumption and for external exports.

right now with no underground, we cant even walk on the streets without banging into someone, doesnt help when everyone is using their phones and blocking u. transport is already a huge problem. so with building the underground they will have a better excuse to bring in more foreigners to hit 10 million. our local population doesnt increase significantly, so who are all these new living areas for? and humidity levels are going to increase. the social fabric is already bad now and will only get worse. sad to say the new singapore will be designed for new citizens and not for locals.not sure how people will even have good air anymore.

With increasing hot temperatures and erratic wind patterns, it’s wiser to stay underground. Then net off, stick your body in leave the head out… 🤣🤣🤣

@@Schocam no Singapore is not together with the ‘everyone’, even when Japan can be slightly ahead 😂
They have a bigger challenge to take as they have a large portion of land on fault lines. So they are limited to a small portion to develop on. Hence with that 100 Plus million people, the search for new land below intensified years before Singapore experienced the need to innovate.

underground water seepage is unavoidable n its a constant seek n 'repair'- grouting exercise throughout the days weeks months n years. so living underground is not as romantic as the gov is presenting.
