Man that Cummins 5.9 looks good under the hood. Nice that the back 2 cylinders are still so accessible, in the 2nd gen dodges they are hid up under the cowl. I got the NV4500 in my 1999 with 3.55s and still start in 2nd unless im towing heavy.

The issue or what I would think to be an issue is taking a gaser and dropping in the cummins would be the RPM to speed issue. The gas would run 2K and 65 MPH. The cummins would be in the same RPM range running the same MPH, 2k or more at freeway sppeds. That would be were the 373 gearing would be needed.

I have the same body style but in a Suburban 2500. I used an oem chevy clutch pedal. Then I drilled the hole in the firewall and drilled out the pedal assembly where it meets the master. Then I machined a piece of aluminum to reinforce that area. It's a square. I did this because the plastic did not hold up by itself. I used the dodge hydraulics and it worked out perfect for the nv4500. Hope this helps. I may be selling my burb soon unfortunately. Done alot of work to it recently. My latest video shows it. Because my 1999 donor was my daily driver, was already modded, and is a very reliable engine with a good fuel pump. 12v is simple and common rail is nice but vp44 trucks can be plenty reliable....it’s all about the person maintaining it.

@@thehoughcompoundcool I was just wondering lol just go ahead and P PUMP it lol

Absolutely NEVER!!!! I have tune on the fly capability, able to read and clear the ECU as required etc. p pump has its place...but for a daily...I’ll take the ability to turn the fuel up and down with the touch of a button😉

@@thehoughcompound I understand I've just had so much issues with my vp Cummins even with a fass and adding lubricant to my fuel and keeping an eye on the fuel pressure I just can't seem to keep the VP alive for more than a year I just like the reliability of a p pump but then again my truck is an absolute work horse.

Thank you so much! Did you have to use an adapter?

Actually I ended up using a North west fabrication gear. It worked okay but I still had to space the t case from the transmission 1/4 inch. Works great though. She’s done plenty of burn outs!

What is your top speed in 5th with those 4.10's ?

Jessie I have no idea. She cruises on the interstate 70-75 okay but it's starting to windout more than I like. I mean it could probably hit 90-100 but that damn 5.9 would not be happy.

Jason Hough Seems like it’d be happier with a 3.73 rear end out of a Duramax. Should get you about 300rpm less.

I eventually added one but only for the air conditioning. The engine has never needed it. I've towed pretty heavy in the summer and it's still fine.
