Thank you. Brought back many memories of long practices and finally falling in love with Trieste. I played it at 15 years old and won 2 first place competitions with that piece. It never gets old. You played it beautifully.

When taking lessons, this piece was assigned to me.... I found it difficult.... my Dad picked up his accordion and played it all the way through first time... he used to do that with all of the music I brought home from lessons..... he made it look so easy, as do you..... I loved Pietro Deiro's compositions and arrangements.... Mr. Noel, you do an amazing job on this one!! Makes me want to get out my accordion that I haven't touched in years..... I have mine and my Dad's..... maybe I'll find this music in the cases... you are truly inspiring!

I won the 1977 American Accordionist Association Open with this piece at age 15, but I never realized the phrasing as observed here! it's exquisite.

Congratulations and thanks for your response. I don't know if my phrasing is correct, but I do love having the freedom, at this stage of my life, to have the freedom to experiment with songs.

Brilliant performance Richard. Your arrangement and orchestration is superb as is your dexterity over the keys and bass buttons.
Lovely dynamics in this and well balanced between treble and bass - I know you put a lot of time and thought into this - bravo!

Excellent! I love to hear this! I remember practicing over and over and over again to get it all right. Much appreciate hearing someone who gives it the proper playing it deserves.

Thank you. It has been interesting to revisit some of the songs that were staples of my high school years playing traditional accordion music.

Bravissimo! Having just listened to the opening of P. Deiro's own recording of this piece (and even discounting all the sounds associated with primitive sound reproduction of that day), I have no doubt that if he heard *your* performance, he could only say to you, "Grazie, Maestro ... mille grazie."

thorn324 You are very kind. He was an astonishing musician, especially considering the equipment he had to work with. I can only imagine what he could have done with the modern accordion.

Richard Noel Kind? Gee, I only intended to be honest. // Yes, the accordion has certainly developed extraordinarily since his day. As far as what he could have done with a modern instrument (especially a Roland), likely wonderful things--though only after reading the manual, reading as much as possible online, and (again meant solely honestly), watching your videos for a wealth of timbral ideas. Best wishes and thank you for your fine performances.

Could you answer my question as an accordionist who has played both, is there a big difference between Roland Fr-7x and 8x? Because their costs are very different and I am wondering if I buy a 7x, will I miss a lot nice features?
