I Went Back to Diamond Dynasty on MLB The Show 21
mlb,mlb the show,mlb the show 24,mlb 24,mlb 24 the show,diamond dynasty,mlb the show 24 diamond dynasty,mlb 24 diamond dynasty,mlb the show 24 gameplay,I Went Back to Diamond Dynasty on MLB The Show 21,mlb 21,mlb the show 21
MLB The Show 24 is so horribly bad that everyone is going on a nostalgia trip with other MLB games mainly being 21
Facts. I'm literally downloading 21 as we speak. This was my first year in MLB the show and the most fun I had playing the game
20 was the best. Followed by 21.
@@sunkenbrush4554 didn't get to play 20. Wasn't on xbox. So I couldn't play it
Sunkenbrush4554 ur right
I’m literally only playing mlb 23 right now and loving it
I always dabbled in DD, mainly short-lived BR runs or an event game here and there before 21. That was the first game I really dove into DD. Got friends to play cuz they were convinced by how easy it was to get cards. It was so much better. Greed is lame. They can't stop us if we all go back to 21.
Man, the things I would do for SDS to listen and just make MLB 25 just like 20 and 21 were. Sadly I don't think they'll ever listen.
For real
@@tgorefan23 wasn’t great either
I think they will…. I think this year was a fuck it year because this is the last year of last gen consoles. Next year will be the first year with next gen only. I feel that’s why they experimented this year to see what they could push and see if it worked. There’s noooo fucking way they come back next year with next gen only game like this bullshit. There’s no way they stick with this set bullshit, and players expiring. Has to be back to their roots.
Looks like that might just happen
MLB 24 is so bad, that Koogs goes back to MLB 21. Absolute Chad.
Oooh it rhymes
Cry about it
@@Canyonmcbanionbut he’s right
@@hofaltuvehe’s not. everybody was spoiled by 23 so when people actually have to work for cards, yall cry about it
@@baseballprodz13 blud💀 I grind to get everything, so I have everyone, hope you know that
4:53 absolutely. I actually have 2 moments that i fondly and vividly remember from this game. MLB 21 was the first MLB The Show game i ever played, the very first pack i opened i pulled fernando tatis jr. The other moment i fondly remember was I absolutely adored that Milestone Christian Yelich card we had, i had been trying to hit my 100th homerun with him for a long time, i was down 6-0 going into the 9th inning in a game, i started chipping away at the lead and sure enough, yelich came up, score was now 6-3, bases loaded, guy hung a changeup and Yelich absolutely cranked it.
21 was the first year I started playing DD and found a new love for the Show. It also help me get introduced to you Koogs....and to Kyle, LSC, Gomer, Shelfy, Littleman and the whole Show community. Forever grateful for Show 21
22 was my final game. I just felt SDS made an immediate change going into 23 for no apparent reason besides changing things up, and now with most people not interested in JUNE. I thought it would end up better over time, but maybe I was onto something.
MLB The Show 21 holds a special place in my heart as this is the first one I ever played through fully and it was one of the few reasons why I got an Xbox Series X!
I remember the night of release. I"m on the west coast so it loaded up on my xbox at 9pm. I was giddy as a 8 year old girl on her birthday1
@@gamernorcal I remember getting home from work and immediately doing stadium creator!
I think one thing people haven’t talked about enough is the lack of legends. I think MLB 24 was an attempt to generate more $ to get more legends. It seems as though the games that we love in the past haven’t generated enough revenue to retain the rights to big names like Ted Williams Hornsby Cobb herchezer. That’s the only explanation to me that makes sense as to why this years game was so awful. It’s June and content creators are already playing older games… that’s something they usually do in November- January and they’re doing it right now because the pay to play and decentivization to grind is just too much.
Older games? Man just about all the creators have been playing different games all together already. Ellen rings and everything else
24 DD is more like the greatest hits of past DDs.
You know MLB 24 is ass when Koogs goes back to 21 in June
January content in June. 24 is so bad. MLB the show 21 was goated though, thanks for bringing back memories Koogs.
I remember when inning programs were at their peak and I was coming home everyday from working at summer camp and grinding them. It was honestly the most fun I had on any mlb the show game.
Also the monthly awards programs were so much fun. I used to watch you Koogs, and Shelfy and Kyle and grind out those programs all night when they came out
@@philly_isaac they also had daily moments which was great
Finest Jesse winker: three home run game and won it on a fastball low and away he hit over the short porch in the top of the ninth
Getting that 99 postseason Eddie Rosario, was the highlight of the game! And 99 Jorge Soler! Best MLB the Show game.
MLB the show 21 was so perfect. The music 10/10. The random cool cards and legends. The way they did the thing where you get 99s only by like September or August. Just a perfect game
This game was my introduction to DD and I’ve been chasing that MLB 21 feeling ever since! Such a great game.
First half of MLB 21 is truly unforgettable
I P5'd more cards in MLB the Show 21 then in the next 3 games combined it felt like. I also collected every single card in the game with no money spent. It was an addiction. That game was incredible. I wish we could have that content structure and care from the developers again.
remember how they give us daily content too! that was awesome! daily moments they need to bring back
This was the MLB the show that got me back playing baseball video games…. Cedric Mullens and Edward Cabrera gave me PTSD 😂
Yeah sure, mlb 21 had its flaws and stuff. But it’s an iconic game and I miss everything about it and those days of looking forward to get home from school and playing till 2:30 in the morning. So much stuff that was actually worth it and so many variety of good cards. Last mlb the show that was not pay to win.
I still say to this day, that MLB 21 (My re-entry to the show series since ‘18), is probably my favorite MLB of all time in terms of just content and just being able to play the game for hours and not being tired of it. The grind wasn’t excruciating, and most of the best cards not being in packs. The daily moments, the evolutions cards, the player programs, the collections (all though, the player ones being a little tough for people who don’t dump money into the game or play 8 hours a day, were a bit tough) were all awesome.
5:00 favorite moment, not so favorite moment really but it’s a great memory for me. July 25, 2021, it was a Sunday and the daily moment was hitting a home run with Roberto Clemente. I wasn’t the only one that took a while to get through it. I saw the videos and Twitter the next day. Some got it quick but I think many remember it for taking way too long.
this is when i started watching koogs for the first time so its nice to get some nostalgia today 😁 Keep doin ur thing koogs 👍🏾❤
I still play this game till this day. I bought it towards the end of the 2021 season and I’ve been playing it since. I also have been playing 23 but 21 will forever be with me
6:57 when kooks saw wander Franco and said yikes😂😂😂
This is great
I miss old koogs mlb 21
(Ik that wasn’t that long ago but his content has changed so much since then)
wsg
the best memory i have of mlb the show 21 was a walkoff homer with topps now taijuan walker on a power swing
Remember when this game came out we were full blown in Covid Lockdown. MLB 21 was a great escape from reality!
Yeah, 21 mlb the show was a good year and it got me introduced into Dynasty and it was fun using different cards that were good
I completely agree with this. This is my first video I’ve watched on your channel and I agree with every point you make. I definitely miss when stuff was like this. Hopefully SDS looks at this and makes some changes.
This is my favorite the show and my first
best mlb the show I’ve personally played
Wow the nostalgia, this game was so fun
Nostalgia? it was only 3 years ago lol. but ya i get you. 24 is so bad it makes 21 look like it was made in 1991
The yikes for wander Franco is priceless 😂😂😂
Threw a perfect game with king felix in ‘21, peak fkn game
Legend
I threw one with Topps Now Darivish 🔥🔥
@@MuayThaiMiko so valid
21 was hands down my favorite year of DD .
The first show game I played and the best one
One of my favorite mlb the show ❤
Never played 21 first game was 22 but I loved the fact that whenever a player did something like judge hitting 62 the same day they added a program for his card. Definitely seems like they just don’t care as much
Yikes on 99 Franco is crazy💀
Not rly
@Paxton_SlaughterOng little bro don’t know
My favorite thing from 21. Was this random ryne sandberg card, I got from a base round. I put him in my lineup when it was bad. And he could not get out. He wasn’t the best, or have anything special, he just hit so good and at the time I was terrible I batted like 200 tops and was like 3-20 but that sandberg card was just so memorable to me
Daily moments was always so fun along with player programs, that's one of the main things I miss in 24.
2021 was my favorite year of baseball
I remember unlocking that 4th inning boss and being so so EXCITED (Rays fan) and I hit a grand slam with him and then another HR in that game. I miss 21 man😢
Was it the Longo card? I remember the Brandon Lowe and The Wade Boogs like yesterday
@@nategrandusky172 Unfortunately it was Wander. I just didn't wanna get hit for mentioning a possible p3dos name. Back before we knew he was. His future star card
@@PaulsWall2024 I remember that card, I don’t think I played as well with him
MLB The Show 20 was peak DD for sure!
My favorite moment from mlb the show 21 is I got Jacob Degrom Parel 5 and the game after I got him Parel 5 I threw a no hitter and went 6-6 for Trea Turner with the cycle
5:10 Can’t forget Live Series Shohei Ohtani having a sub 2 ERA and 95 Jordan Groshans hitting .480 with a 1.500 OPS
You know it’s bad when Koogs hasn’t made a dd video in almost 2 weeks 😂
i’ll always love this game. it also helps that i’m on xbox so it was my first mlb the show game. hate that i can’t go back it’s not on gamepass. so depressing seeing how’s it gone since this.
21 was my first game(thanks Xbox) I LOVED the evolution programs
I’ll never forget how I ran frank Thomas and Stanton at 3rd that year. And they would catch lasers lol.
My memory was a complete game with topps now Corey kluber in ranked
I pitched a 9 inning game with Milestone Verlander in 21 the crazy thing is I won 2-1 and Verlander was unhitable! Literally only got one hit and that was a HR after that he was untouchable!
If Miggy and Scherzer waited until this year to get those milestones, no doubt in my mind at all, that they would be in packs
2:08 😩I miss him so much
You know content is bad when koogs goes back to 21
First ever the show game I ever played, not only was it great but it also had that it factor just because it’s the one I started on, I like 24 personally as well but 21 was my first taste
I agree MLB 20 was the best one people forget that’s the first year there was perfect perfects introduced and the first TA cards the face of the franchise was definitely some of my favorite
For me 21 isn’t just about the content. As an Xbox player I never was able to play mlb the show and as a big baseball fan that bummed me out but then to see mlb the show coming to Xbox gamepass was just so much fun. Everything was new and I had a lot of learning to do. I didn’t what really any of the stats where so I just used the highest overall at each position and I had so much fun. But that was cut short around December time my power went out which corrupted my mlb file so when I went back in I found that all my progress was reset back to bronze cards
I wish there was an mlb game where Pujols 99 came out before the mlb season was over. He's my favorite player man, just let me use him
I didn't play in 21 so this was all new to me. What a difference from then to now. So much to do in 21. Not so much anymore.
21 and 22 or two my favorite MLB the shows I like 23 because of Derek Jeter
Man I forgot about that evolution from mlb 21, but I think that idea done correctly could be super good for 25
I like how he made this whole vid just to remind everyone he discovered the Byron buxton card
Brandon Lowe hit my first walk off homerun in mlb the show for me and from then on he’s been my favorite player and i gave him the nickname mr walk off
Man this hurt just seeing how bad 24 is I miss the old days
It's almost like when the game was smaller before releasing on Xbox and Nintendo, they were more connected to the community. Now that they released multi-platform, they're all about money
I do miss the player programs and the daily moment! that Pablo Sandoval card was my real MVP
Besides all the 125 h/9 pitchers coming out halfway through the game cycle, this game was peak SDS possibly
Fax 21 was my favorite but I have an Xbox One so I can’t play it anymore but the way he said yikes with wander Franco 😂😂😂
Bro was straight yappin for 21 mins 😭
I low-key thought he was gonna say the 2 most notorious pitchers were deGrom and Verlander. I almost never faced Edward but gyatt DAYUM did I face Verlander a lot and I hated him with a burning passion to the point where I momentarily was glad he left my hometown tigers
Verlander was actually the toughest pitcher for me to hit that year haha
Really hope SDS pays attention to this
The all star content in 21 was the greatest period in mlb the show history
21 parallel style is so nostalgic for me even though it's only 3 years ago
I think i’ve put about 8 hours into Mlb 24 this year. i miss the old games so much
i’ve been playing 21 for the past month. so much more fun than 24
This. All of THIS. Thanks for the flashback.
Just seeing all these guys and collections and how good it was makes me wish 24 was good and actually want to play it
Not even all star break and we’re going back to old games, the downfall of this game has to be studied
Reminder Koogs usually goes back to the old games around the playoffs/October area... We are in June
Excellent demonstration of how far we have strayed in three years, intentional or not!
My first and favorite MLB The Show game ♥️
That Trea Turner card is the best card in DD history, played like it was 125 everything.
21 was the best Mlb The show game
real
Each card type having its own collection voucher is something I really miss because it added a strategic element to the game. Sometimes you would find yourself choosing or chasing a card strictly because you needed that specific series to close out a collection. You had to make some tough decisions based on that.
Now all of the cards are just lumped into one massive pile and it is all irrelevant.
Even though it wasn’t perfect, atleast last year they still allowed you to use a card for two seasons but this year you can only use it for one and they got rid of RTTS player in DD
its wild that this vid did twice as well as your last mlb 24 vid 😳
Best vid this year
You hit the nail on the head with this video.
Jesus… pinpoint was literally introduced in 21 and somehow, was the best pitching mechanic we have had in the last 3 years. Programs were WORTH grinding for since it was rewarding in the end. Xp progression was worth grinding for as well. The 1-9 inning program was damn good compared to the Sets/Seasons we have had since ‘23. SDS has fucked up BAD
It wasn’t unrealistic that schawrber could play catcher. Catcher was his primary position in college with Indiana state.
I’ve watched 11 minutes of this video so far and it is absolute perfection
My first ever MLB after playing madden for 7 years. I thought MLB was going to be amazing forever but it fell into the same trap that MUT did
Greatest MLBTS of all time. 20 is close second btw.
I remember in mlb the show 21 is I got Ken Griffey Jr and Grayson Rodriquez and Finest Bryan Reynolds
this is easily the very best mlb the show
Almost shit my pants when I saw Edward again
the throw meter was 3rd imposter.. GGs
I had so much fun with this version of the game. I wonder if I could reset mine and start over
I remember the inning programs because I got Christy matthewson and my friend got like a hitter and it was so funny because Matthewson had a very slow release and like a 69 mph screwball🥵
