I just discovered this and WOW. I am a Fusion Belly Dancer, not a very good one I am still learning. The foot work and physicality of all these dancers is amazing. I still trip over my own feet sometimes. I wish I had a tenth of their skill and ability. Just amazing.

Thanks for watching Daisy! A lot of these dancers started performing when they were small children. If you ever get the chance to visit the pow wow, they have a tiny tots category, and the kids are very cute! Our elders also perform, in the Golden age category. You can visit www.powwows.com to find a pow wow nearby, everyone is welcomed

This is so wonderful, thank you so much for sharing this experience! My mother and I used to go to the pow wows near us when I was younger, but we have not been to one in a very long time. Thank you, Aaron, for sharing this and your effort! Love the Pow Wow! It's so uplifting and fun! Also interesting to watch it at night.
It is helpful if you share the location. I checked on the internet and it was held in Scottsdale, Arizona. Helpful to have more info from the organizer, such as the community, history of this Pow Wow, as many people watching it are not in your area. Found on the Internet that this is the largest traditional Pow Wow in Arizona. For next time, I suggest showing the Drummers and Singers if feasible, even for a few minutes in the video. Sending love and peace from Toronto, Canada, on the same Turtle Island! 🥰

@@IndigenousEventRecordings Hello Aaron! Thank you for your prompt reply and openness! Yes. Maybe add community name, town, state, country name in video description. From their flyer, looks like Salt River Pima-Maricopa is the name of the native reserve/community.
If you have indigenous heritage, great that you are connecting with your heritage and sharing this beautiful part of the culture with others. Do you have heritage from this community?
Unfortunately, in some cultures, incl mainstream pop music in the U.S., dancing and music become a way to objectify women, glorify violence, materialism. This toxic patriarchal, capitalist culture hurts everyone.
I live in Toronto, Canada, Turtle Island. The band Halluci Nation collaborates with indigenous singers, drumming groups. Their videos are uplifting and positive!
Like that you share the pow wow website link with others, showing us the lovely doggies, beautiful nature and hiking. For safety, better to hike with a few other people. If you put intention in sharing uplifting, meaningful videos, your channel subscription will continue to grow! Just subscribed to your channel to support you! :)

One common theme is being in touch with our innate Higher Self/consciousness; love and respect for one self, our planet, people, animals, beings. You shared notes at the peak of Battleship Mt. One shared, "Go vegan!". Having vegan diet is a great step in lifting one's consciousness and energy. Dr Pitcairn also recommended vegan food for dogs and cats in Dr Pitcairn's Natural Guide for Dogs & Cats. The video documentary Hope: What You Eat Matters is great! Available on YT.

Indigenous = original inhabitants. This is such an insult to the American Indian and his/her tribe. These people deserve much more respect and admiration than being labled with such a vanilla name, when their Tribes name is much more meaningful and colorful. Damn the government that spit it in the eye of the American Indian and their contribution/sacrifice for this countyry. Leave it to the United States government to blatently and with malice, INSULT a very proud people with such a rich history.
