I’m pretty sure it was because the actor wanted to leave that they killed him off, and there’s not really any other way to get rid of him for good, because it wouldn’t be at all believable if they just suddenly broke up after all this and then Paul was never seen again
I love them I would have loved that i’m just happy that he found someone else after all that since they can’t be together because Paul dyed. Ben and Callum are amazing as well i’m just glad he has Callum now if he and we can’t have Ben and Paul.
Ben's lunch idea was so charming and thoughtful, showing he was proud to be out in the open with Paul and be honest with his family, while also respecting Paul's wishes to take their new relationship slowly in a traditional way.
That was the moment I got really hype for a long-established gay triangle, which would have been a first for EE at the time. But of course Auntie Beeb hates us all and so instead of a decent gay-centric s/l we got a death, a departure and a total recast of all three characters.
Cute couple, Ben and Abby relationship lasted WAY TO LONG!! And as usual the producers/writers did the STUPIDITY CARD WAAAY TO LONG. And ending in death. PATHETIC!!
And now Ben as Max Bowden is confident, proud and hard. Well done Ben. As much as I loved this Ben, he wouldn’t have been right for the development of a character that Kate Oates wrote him as.
Just found out about this couple. They are really good together, and Paul is really cute and sweet. So sad he had to die. Was he written off because he wanted to leave the show or just for the sake of drama?
7:53 Ben/Paul were a perfect couple and meant to be, obviously, but I can't help feeling bad for Johnny Carter at this point in the storyline. After all, Johnny cared deeply for Ben too--they had history, they had sparks, they had a profound bond. And though they had horrible timing and didn't fit together as easily as Ben/Paul, with a few different twists of Fate they could have worked out and made a go of it. Johnny looks a bit crushed at 8:00, which he wouldn't do if Ben & Paul were just his mates (Johnny loved celebrating gay pride).
Charlie Jones was two years younger than jay Joshua Pascoe was a year younger Harry Reid was two years older than jay and Max Bowden is the same age but few months younger
