    Recently started hiring these for my shoots. They're amazing.

    We definitely use the in built effects on large shows, one show we relied on the fire effect with a chimera bag, and on many other shows the cop car effect

    I used the 60 once for a shoot. Never again, it's soooo heavy, and my rental house give the in like this huge flight case. I could barely lift it up to put it in my car. I bought now at my local dealer a Lupo superpanel 60. So much better and they give a very good TLCI and it's also crazy bright!

      I think the weight is relative really. Yes if it's a small production or a one-man-band and you're looking to just use a few lights and you're loading everything into your personal car then yes, the skypanel is a heavy beast. But if you're on a bigger shoot with a dedicated equipment truck, big HMIs, fresnels, etc etc. I think that the Skypanel is a lot lighter and more versatile in comparison to many lights in use today.

    ProAV TV I love these lights and think they are a some what great improvement on a lot of LEDs The guys at Arri told me they dont loose much output when switching from colour to colour also the benifit of having Roscoe/Lee filter presents built in is a dream. However they cost a lot and I feel that a white light with a gel will give you a brighter and as good effect.

      They are a great light. Yes you can filter, but filters are less convenient and cant be as finely adjusted as the Skypanels can. Theres no denying they come at a high price tag though.

    I would love to you use them but they are just so expensive

    • @ProAVTV
      @ProAVTV  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely, they are right at the high end of the market. I have a comparison coming soon though with an affordable light. So keep an eye out for that.

    Havent used these yet but they look great.... can you power any model from house mains?
    I'm guessing too powerful for battery options/v-mount etc?

    • @ProAVTV
      @ProAVTV  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes you can use them on house mains, thats how they were powered here.
      You can use 2 Batteries to power them, but you need an accessory to replace the PSU with a battery mount.

    That color accuracy at 3200K is pretty alarming.

    • @ProAVTV
      @ProAVTV  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Its not impressive is it.
      Not a deal breaker at all though, and if colour performance is important to you then we have plenty of more affordable LED's which score higher than this (Spoiler alert for my next video)

      It's got DMX control. So all you need is some DMX cables and a controller . You can find them on the internet, even wireless, and also some that are pretty cheap that run dmx off an ethernet controller (check on Alibaba website for some deals). So it comes out of your computer on ethernet and into the controller and gets converted into DMX and run down a wireless dmx transmitter or dmx cable (not to be confused with an XLR cable even though they look identical) to the light. Then you can set up some control software like M-PC to control it. Here is an article:

    Are you looking for the best v mount battery for SKY PANEL S30 ?
    GEN ENERGY, 290Wh
    G-B100/290W is very good for skypanel for long running time.
    * Running time : 2H40M
    It will be the longest running time among V mount batteries on the market.

    These products don't come close to black body fixtures so don't even think about correct color rendering, all LED's are essentially the same, a near UV blue LED chips with a Yellow/Phosphor coating.
    Take a yellow gel with tungsten light, and a blue gel with tungsten light, combine on a white wall, you get white - this is what LED chip manufacturers are Trying to do.
    The manufacturing process is not precise so there are always variations. Your $2000 color meter is advertised a "spectrometer" but guess what folks, its not. It only has 3 photo cell sensors analyzing 3 narrow bands of the visual spectrum, there is no diffraction grating inside that thing. The color temperature readout is based on a CIE equation. So not only is it "correlated color temperature" which is is a fancy word for "looks like" 5000K but it's also wrong because the SPD spectral power distribution is only looking at 3 data points when you should have a minimum of 300.
    PS - the fact you have gaffers acting as salesmen- - All bets are off.
