Stephen J. Cannell was a great legend and he created a lot of great television shows and I love his logo history. He will always be a legend to the fans.
They started to use the full Mike Post jingle for this starting in early 1985 and allow for the camera to fully go 180 degrees before the paper throw. They dropped the horns and only focused on the strings in the fall of 1987.
This man had dyslexia and tragically lost a son aged 15, yet he produced, created and wrote for many excellent shows. Plus he was a decent actor too. Total role model. Rest in peace.
Nope, in that Episode he was allready dead, thats why they playt it. In that Episode the Chair remains EMPTY for him. He did some Appreance on that Show bevor.
This idea was way before it's time easily. That music and gambit have been part of my entire life in some form or fashion. I still love how the paper comes together and forms a C with the rest of the stack. It makes me think back to the 80's and Saturday nights everytime I see these. Greatest TV decade ever for tv shows, movies, and music by far!
We will always remember the guy who brought great tv shows and I appreciate you for it n we will always remember you as the guy who toss his paper in every credits RIP STEPHAN
Interesting that The A-Team and Knight Rider both went with the shortened versions of their logos, Stephen J. Cannell for A-Team and Glen A. Larson for Knight Rider. Those two shows always went together in my mind.
Well, very interesting. Long before Knight Rider and The A-Team...there were The Greatest American Hero (1981-1989) and The Fall Guy (1981-1986) for 20th Century Fox Television. Both went with many versions of their first logos, Stephen J. Cannell Productions and Glen A. Larson Productions, composed by Mike Post, Pete Carpenter, Glen A. Larson, Stu Phillips. Arranged, conducted and orchestrated by Ennio and Maria Morricone, Jerry Grant, June Foray, D. Bergen White. These first two successful shows always went together in my mind.
The logo wouldn't work for a number of years between 1975 and 1988. However, The Fall Guy and Knight Rider were the first two shows used with the logo and fanfare.
