- Today I can present to you the full Drive & Sound with the 2015/2016 Skoda Octavia RS 230 powered by the well-known 2.0 TSI delivering 230 hp and 350 Nm of torque (weight: 1.487kg). This particular car is equipped with the super-fast shifting DSG, all RS 230 are coming with eh limited-slip-diff known from the Golf 7 GTI Performance or Leon Cupra 290. Although the acceleration didn't feel that brutal looking a the time of around 6.3 sec. to 100 plus not being much slower than a GTI performance to 200 km/h is quite reasonable for a "large" family saloon. Of course this car is more or less a Golf with a longer boot but if you compare space and performance there's only the Seat that can take it on with this one. Audi TT Coupe has a similar engine with 230hp, but it has +20nm extra torque and, with quattro, 0-100 time is less by one second. The weight is 1410kg, slightly less than this Octavia RS. Also, the rev goes red starting with 6750rpm instead of 6500rpm.
Valentin Tudor The TT is a sports coupé, the Octavia is a family car. You can't compare these cars.
TT quattro is also double the price so I guess you'd want some better specs to make you feel better about buying it.

This isn’t stock exhaust? My 230 2018 Skoda VRs sounds nothing like this. The exhaust is silent. Is this one resonator deleted?
I noticed that this car's engine climbs relatively slow in revs. The same engine in a GTI will blow the tires of in the first and gear. Still, the 6.3s time is quite good.... strange...
Maybe because this has a limited slip diff and slightly wider tyres 235 instead of 225.

Hi, ist denn in Zukunft auch mal ein Test vom Focus ST geplant, finde den nicht schlecht... ist vielleicht auch ein gutes Vergleichsmodell zum Ovtavia RS.

+Willi Gärtner Moin. Zunächst werden wir uns wohl auf den Focus RS konzentrieren, aber evtl. ergibt sich auch nochmal die Möglichkeit für einen ST mit 250 PS...den Diesel hatten wir ja schon.

Habe diese Woche einen RS in dem Grau gesehen. Die Farbe ist genial. Wie ist das Canton Soundsystem und wie ist dein Eindruck von der Geräuschdämmung im Octavia?
+Tim Müller Canton Soundsystem ist gut, aber nicht überragend....ich würde es irgendwo Richtung Audi Soundsystem einordnen. Geräuschdämmung ist ebenfalls ähnlich wie in einem Golf 7 oder A3.
There is something I can't get used to : the sound of this DCT while shifting.
Depends on the drive mode you choose, No noise if you choose comfort or eco
+Mirko Scholz You are wrong, i was surprised, but this car make noise even on ECO mode, just, if you shift over 4.000 RPM, the noise be there, whatever mode you are... (bad english, sorry... :) )
why would you buy the rs230 with front differential if you then complained about the farts? its like complaining about ferrari being too fast for you and then buying bugatti.. fuck logic right... just fuck it

Schönes Auto, aber wenn man sich den Verlauf zwischen Leistung und Drehmoment ansieht, dann bekommt man Tränen in den Augen...
Schade, dass Skoda und Seat vom VAG Konzern so "beschnitten" werden.
Bei der Getriebeübersetzung erreicht man die Höchstgeschwindigkeit wohl schon im 5. Gang oder?
Ich fahre einen Seat Leon SC CUPRA 280, aber von der Qualität und der Ausstattung her hätte ich mir einen "Sekoda Supra" gewünscht!!!
Leider kann man nur zwischen Leistung und Komfort wählen...
Stock exhaust?
Wie sieht das bei dem deiner Meinung nach mit dem Federungs- und Sitzkomfort aus? Kann man mit dem RS auch längere Strecken fahren, ohne dass einem anschließend Arsch und Rücken weh tun? Evtl. im Vergleich zum Seat Ibiza Cupra den du kürzlich gefahren bist - ich bin letztens den Polo GTI gefahren (sollte ja sehr ähnlich sein), der hat zwar richtig Spaß gemacht aber kaufen würde ich den nie, da ich auch mal länger als eine Stunde am Stück fahre und es dann doch ein bisschen bequem haben möchte.
+Maxis Blog Komfort im RS ist wirklich sehr anständig, mit dem Polo GTI nicht ganz vergleichbar, da der RS mehr Radstand hat und auf der Autobahn noch ruhiger läuft.

The Octavia looks way better in the sedan version in my eyes. And still has a big boot.

@@sebastianklier7867, bin etwas spät, 😀 aber der Octavia RS ist definitiv nicht lauter als ein GTI. Zumindest nicht als ein 7 oder 7.5 GTI Performance mit 245 PS.

Nope, just the biproduct of shifting with dsg trans.
Farts happen because the car is turbocharged and DSG shifts incredibly fast. ECU cuts fuel, but there is boost left over in the turbo, the boost is dumped out the exhaust and the next gear kicks in quickly. This creates a sort of like a different pressure bubble in the exhaust which pops. Doesn't happen in manuals because you can't shift as quick.
