Usually I'm one to say media should only be lost if it's disrespectful (like audio of a murder or something which is kinda disrespectful to the victim imo) causes people harm.
I think this counts cause it harms my eyes.
I remember Ripley and Scuff being well loved as a kid, really don't understand your issues with it, it's tame as hell. There was far freakier stuff on UK kid's TV- Ripley and Scuff wasn't just a kid's show, it was aimed at LITTLE kids. Is American kids' TV really that much safer looking? Roger and the Rottentrolls (which it was a spin off of aimed at a younger audience) was an absolute classic too- a genuinely great show, and it looked the same- far less cutesy than Ripley and Scuff, even.

If you struggle to pronounce the "tsu" syllable (in tsubasa) you can just say "subasa". It's a single syllable, so "tsu" instead of "tesu"

@@1leon000 oh yes I was just playing a long con, although ts isn't a phoneme that crops up at the start of words in english too often so I can see it being difficult to pronounce for the uninitiated. japanese have the "G" sound but they sure have some fuckin trouble ending words with it without training due to lack of exposure. a lot of british accents are non-rhotic and so while they can start or end words with an R sound, they vanish into the ether in the middle of words. exposure and need to use a specific sound in a specific location will affect somebody's ability to do it. You can probably, without training, make all of the clicking noises used in a language like xhosa, but try weaving one into a word like any other consonant and it becomes a lot more difficult, like trying to one up me
edit: by exposure I suppose I mean "a lack of it existing in that context", like ts at the start of (non-loan) english words
There's an artform to making more humanoid puppets. Unfortunately, a LOT can go wrong and a LOT can trigger an uncanny valley. And that one dog or pet or whatever puppet looks like if Rowlf the Dog was made for some odd Eastern European kid's show. Don't do my boy Rowlf like that.
Captain Tsubasa also has tons of games spanning nearly every console generation.

Hmm. You know, there’s a partially lost show on CITV called Don’t Eat the Neighbours. It was a Canadian-British co-production that blended puppetry with CGI. The show had a website, a BTS video, and a DVD with four episodes. The rest of the show wasn’t released on streaming. There are clips of the show (including the missing episodes) on a channel called ITV Children’s Classics. I had an interest in the show for a while, and uploaded the four full episodes onto Internet Archive. Unless someone makes this popular, this show is left partially lost, with all the episodes locked in the ITV vault.

Reminds me. There's this obscure play called, "Be like water," or, be water, I think, and it's about the ghost of Bruce lee visiting this tomboyish Asian American girl. It was written by a guy called Dan Kwong, and it seems to be mostly forgotten. Have any of you ever seen it or heard about it before?
Tbh I was class of 2017 and I remember also playing a similar version of halo back in HS. My friend had a copy on a flashdrive and we were able to use it to get it on several computers in the school computer lab. It became so popular, I remember one day the whole class was playing a game and even our teacher was playing on his laptop. I don’t remember if it was the same exact halo but hearing exe made me think of that.

Ripley and Scuff would of just not lasted due to viewer rating. Not because it looked creepy alot of puppet shows from the 80s to early 2000's looked liked from UK and Europe and no one back then found them creepy. It was just mostly when americans found them they thought everyone thought they was creepy.
THANK YOU! As a UK kid of the 90s, all the people calling it creepy looking is genuinely baffling to me. Ripley and Scuff is downright cuddly compared to a lot of those shows. I also remember it being reasonably popular too? Not as much as Roger and the Rottentrolls which it was a spin off of, but I still remember kids talking about it at the time.

Captain tsubsa isnt lost media, it's also known popular in Arabian countries, named as captain Majid. And videos of it online on TH-cam to, it even says it on google if u search كابنت ماجد it would say captian tsubsa.

I don't remember the specific name of the song, but it is from the Yume Nikki OST. Each song is a quick 10-ish second loop at most so it won't take long to browse thru the music list to find it
