Just to add on, for mid-career switcher in their 40s and beyond and if they are fortunate enough to successfully hopped on this bandwagon, we will have to content with fresh grad pays that are way below the median income. But of course, it's better than zero income. Hard truths
AK has zero earned income.😢 Government took pity on me and gave me financial help like GST vouchers.🤭 Not all Singaporeans are rich but we can all be richer if we invest steadily for income. 😊
Those who are able to stay in outram may have low salary but they live in prime location. Their houses have more value than other places in Singapore. So it is fair somewhat to them, nearer to workplace and safe retirement if they sell their houses and move to standard flats.

Lovely video, so humbling. Between the topic of education and job type, I read somewhere that real estate property sales is the work requiring the least formal qualification (O levels) with the highest possible pay. Is that true?

When society rewards snake oil finance salespeople who provide little to minimal societal value, it is no wonder we are losing people who can better impact the community because they don't feel rewarded or recognised. Ultimately, we need to rely on foreign workers for these tasks. Hopefully, the government can focus on building people with impactful skills soon; if not, we will not be so lucky if another financial crisis hits.

10 years ago, when I was living in Singapore with SGD 10K salary per a month, I barely managed to save SGD 1K a month, because I had to pay school fee for my son (foreigner only), COE, high house rent. As living as a foreigner, it was NOT easy to survive there, unless a foreigner earns more than 20K a month ( yearly SGD 240K). Even public secondary school for my son costs SGD 1.1K per a month which is free for Singaporeans.
Singapore being the most expensive country to buy a car but i dont understand why our taxi & ride hailing fare is not the most expensive comparing to other develop countries. Take example, Japan, Australia, UK, the fare is reasonable for taxi, ride hailing for driver to make a living. Even foreigner saying that our ride fare is very very cheap here.
