Nice video!
It’s a cool climb with great views, I’ve done it twice.
Did this in late August after you. One of the most engaging and enjoyable climbs I’ve had on a 14er. Hope to try Wetterhorn soon
I thought so too. Mt. Wilson and El Diente are on my list for next year. I climbed Wetterhorn back in September of 2019 - similar endurance stats to Wilson Peak (starting at Rock of Ages TH), though overall I would say Wilson Peak is slightly more of a technical challenge. Wetterhorn is quite the idyllic setting as I recall, though.
Love your videos! Been subscribed for a while now! Was wondering if you’re trying to climb all the centennials as well as the 14ers?
Well, I've never been too committed to completing lists. Each year I try to make it up some of the high mtns and routes I haven't climbed yet, but I also have a lot of repeats and 3 or 4-peats. Some day, maybe this will translate into completing certain sets of climbs, maybe not. But there are definitely many of the 'highest 100' that would be great to experience. Thanks for watching this and others!
hello 911, yes, i need someone to come get me off this mountain. im not hurt, i just refuse to go down it.
Yeah for sure 🤣 - sometimes that would be nice like to just get in a helicopter or something, and not have to slog all the way back down those treacherous rocks like on this mountain.
Though this peak has moderate endurance stats if approached from the starting point shown in this video, the challenges high on the mountain compensate for this in its overall difficulty. This was exemplified when I reached the top of the false summit, and looked at the formidable and intimidating sight of the route's crux. 'Oh boy,' I thought, but, as we do, found myself proceeding up it carefully and methodically.
