Skippy Dinglechalk I think that kind of goes to show how heavily NA teams lean into gadgets and strats. They seem to struggle against teams that can reliably hit their shots. Against a team like g2 that has the aim monsters, the coordination, and the strats, Fnatic kind of just looks like a half baked squad.

Jaden Kaiser na has crazy aimers but I think the pro teams value the ability to execute strategies more than the ability to aim. The fact that beaulo isn’t signed to a team is proof enough of this. I think what na lacks are people who can do both, aim and execute strategy.
I read a comment saying that g2 lost and exited the video within 3 seconds but then I thought about it for 3 hours and said there is no freaking way and I came back to a very pleasant surprise

Gotta hand it to Fnatic for the awesome mindset they seemed to have through the whole tournament. So many teams (like EG and us ranked players) get dominated by tilt when things dont go our way for 2-3 rounds in a row but Fnatic never stopped smiling

@@lustejon Bruh Fnatic at this tournament didnt have their captain- Magnet was in hospital for Appendicitis. Losing your IGL is big blow to any team, especially in Siege. Might as well try to have fun in a tournament you more likely than not wouldnt be able to win.

I love Fnatic only defended twice that whole match.
I personaly disagree with 5 rounds then swap because it can heavily favour either side if that side is better at the team they are given. IE two defense centric teams clash and we get, say 4/1 and the teams switch. Then the attacking team only needs to win once and it is over
I'm not a fan of it either but it it's 4-1 they still need 2 to win
It’s how every other esport does it. It works rly well, the only way to lose is to lose more games on one side in the 2nd half than the other team did in the first half.

Also remember that the maps are picked in the beginning in addition to operator bans shortly after. Even if you get dominated on one map you are still guaranteed another that you and your teammates favor and you even get to ban ops that you don’t like playing against. The 5 rounds and switch is totally fair in full context. This particular match was just a case of one team being completely outclassed by the other, nothing to do with the side switch system.

I've been thinking about the operator bans and I realized there's a problematic situation with it. Before the operator bans, Liquid was very dependant on Lion (it really helped them win against Penta) and they got punished after the bans were implemented. Penta - even though they complain a lot about Lion - used him against Liquid and were not effective (so, for example, Liquid is either good countering him or Penta is not effective using him. So Penta either needs to grow on how to use him or Liquid grew by knowing how to fight him). Now with the bans, Liquid needs to grow as a team and learn to be effective with other operators. G2 on the other hand are now very dependant on BANNING LION and are NOT beign punished for not knowing how to deal with it. G2 is not being pushed to grow as a team and learn how to fight Lion.
That said, my idea is that a team CANNOT BAN THE SAME OPERATORS ON BOTH MAPS. That would make operator and map bans much more strategic and would force teams to grow and become better. Of course, G2 and Liquid have their merits and I used them as examples, but all of this is valid for future operators to come.
PS: I used the effectiveness of using/fighting operators as a supposition! I am not affirming exactly what G2 or Liquid knows or don't know.

THiago I fell asleep before reading it all. Get a life...
It's true that Liquid was much more dominant with Lion and knew how to use him effectively and that G2 seriously struggle using/playing him, but I don't think they should essentially be punished for always banning him either. And saying they aren't learning how to grow because they ban the same operator every time is pretty far fetched imo. Lion doesn't offer anything to learn from in the first place. You press a button, maybe combine it with a jackal/blitz/fuze/ying/glaz and get a free kill because you're detected trying to save your ass. They look back at the vod and what? Have a Mute near them? Don't roam?
Teams banning the same operator across several maps isn't a big deal to me either. Sure it makes it repetitive and a little boring to watch, but at the end of the day these teams have thousands of money on the line, a position they're fighting for to make it to Lan events and win titles. If I'm dying from free wall hacks, being shot through smoke I light up in, or concussed by an Echo drone I can barely see and zapped by a camera that can only die by using utility I could've maybe used elsewhere, I'd be banning them consistently too.
Consistent banning ≠ loss of growth. Maestro, Lion, Mira, Echo, and Glaz are all extremely powerful operators on any given map, hence why they're the main ones who get banned almost always by every team. Doesn't mean they can't attack if any of those defenders are open, or defend against strong attackers.
Except Lion. He doesn't offer any new found knowledge on how to play and get better. And he's dumb. Also he won't be a concern for G2 or any team next season considering he's being pulled from competitive play. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
