Just found this channel. Great content, great tip. Learned this one the hard way after 3 months driving round the western central desert with a cabin full of red dust. So simple yet so useful.
Very good I remember my truck cab 90 300 tdi and it’s canvas back and all loaded up with camping gear and the dust entering! It was all part and parcel of LandRover life!
Great video, Thank you. That Perentie is a very cool truck. I'm going to give it a try on my 109. A question about something similar. I have added door vents like your series 3. This truck also has a tropical top with 4 top vents set to duct air into the cab. So I have 8 total vents ducting air in. What do you think about changing the two rear top vents to duct air out? I think it may increase airflow in the cab helping to eliminate the heat from the engine and drivetrain. Thanks again for the great videos.
Hi Jim Glad you enjoyed the video, always great to hear. In regards to your question. I would leave the two rear vents as they are for the following reasons: 1) you want to create a positive pressure in the cab so it will keep the dust out. This is achieved by ramming air in. 2) If you expose the rea to vents by cutting the upper layer of the roof you will make it very easy for water to come in when it rains. I hope this helped. Kind regards Geoff
Hi Marco. We do already and have done for a couple of years, in each video there is pop up that appears on screen for our online store. I have placed a link to this store below: seriously-series-clothing.creator-spring.com/? I hope this helps? Cheers Geoff
The other very serious downside to having the back open , especially if you have the sides down is getting the carbon monoxide coming from the exhaust system getting sucked in the back. And you’re right it isn’t much positive pressure, even an increase of 2 psi is more significant overpressure
Nice! Will it work if Sides and back are down but front vents and windows are open? Especially keen to keep fumes down when I have riders in the back (certified for 8)
Buy a Toyota? No chance of dust proofing these as this is the factory installed A/C system called forced air induction! As a kid in the 60’s we called this 4/40 air conditioning- 4 windows down and 40 mph

Thanks mate
nothing wrong with driving around looking like major les!
Do you not have the front vent flaps in the Perentie? Thats what they are there for.
Yes and no. That is what lets the dust in most cases out here. Cheers Geoff
Hi all, whats the best solution for keeping dust out when following a vehicle? Eg in a convoy
Over-take. :)
Or drop back so far the dust has settled. No real other options
Well said AKA Nathan, spot on. Cheers Geoff
G'day Geoff, I reckon you should sell some 'Seriously Series' stickers, id put them on my 2, 2a and 3!

@@seriouslyseriesaustralia Thanx for the link. Is the sticker size pre-set? It only lists custom, where do I enter the size?

Hi Bill. It isn't much, you might get the whiff from time to time and that is it. Cheers Geoff
Much easier to keep the dust out if you only take the kids to school... LOLs 😂
For sure Jimmy. Cheers Geoff
