    Nice video.
    However, one very important thing that isn't mentioned in this video: the GMAT is question adaptive while the GRE is section adaptive...ultimately meaning you can go back and change your answers at a later point for the GRE (given you finish a section early) and you CAN'T on the GMAT. I was strongly leaning towards the GMAT, but once I found that out, it completely changed my mind.

    • @DominatetheGRE
      @DominatetheGRE  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for sharing, and good point. A lot of students like being able to skip questions and come back to them if they have time at the end of a section -- as the GRE currently allows. It sounds like the GRE is now your choice. Good luck and let me know how else I can help!

    What would you recommend if you're better at English and history vs math

    • @DominatetheGRE
      @DominatetheGRE  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Probably the GRE. But what I would really recommend would be taking one of the free practice tests for each exam and see which one suits you better given your strengths/weaknesses.

  • @irenesaygbay5001

    I’m applying for professional counseling and only the school I’m applying to takes both and I can’t decide which one should I take. Which one is easier?

    • @DominatetheGRE
      @DominatetheGRE  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Perception of "easier" varies from student to student, so I can't answer that definitively for you. That said, in my experience, many of my students who have taken both exams said the GRE was a bit easier for them. I would recommend working a handful of practice questions for each exam to see what you think yourself. In particular, do several Data Sufficiency (GMAT) and Quantitative Comparison (GRE) questions to see which "weird" quantitative question type suits you better. Likewise on the verbal side, see whether you feel more comfortable with the more grammar-based Sentence Correction questions (GMAT) or vocabulary-heavy Text Completion and Sentence Equivalence Questions (GRE). If you have the time, you could even take a full-length practice test of each and see how it goes. Good luck and let us know how else we can help!

    can't thank you more sir...this video was so specific and explained what I exactly wanted to know.and sir, would you please help me by informing that is it necessary to sit for SAT to get admitted into business school in Canada at the undergraduate level?

    • @DominatetheGRE
      @DominatetheGRE  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As far as I'm aware, most Canadian undergraduate colleges/universities don't require the SAT for admission -- though some may request it if you have a lower GPA. My recommendation would be to read the admissions requirements for the specific schools you're going to be applying to.

    • @DominatetheGRE
      @DominatetheGRE  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's not a country issue, it's a school-by-school and program-by-program issue. You'll need to check the websites for admissions requirements of the schools you're going to be applying to. And to be clear, a lot of schools will require BOTH the GRE (or GMAT) AND the TOEFL if English isn't your first language. So you'll need to take both.

    I may be crazy for wanting to do this, but I am looking to get my JD and my MBA at the same time! As of right now I am studying for the LSAT. With the background of knowing the LSAT and diving deep into what that covers, would that set me up better for the GRE or GMAT? Thanks for your help!

    • @DominatetheGRE
      @DominatetheGRE  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It would set you up better for the GMAT, as all of the Logical Reasoning stuff you're learning will help you on the GMAT's Critical Reasoning question type as well. Of course the math part, you'll need to learn all of that from scratch. FYI, we do have a LSAT Prep Course as well as GMAT and GRE courses, so let me know if you're looking for one and I'll get you details.

    • @DominatetheGRE

      Vocabulary is primarily tested on Text Completion and Sentence Equivalence questions. They're both multiple choice, but with different format. Here are some sample text completion questions, straight from the ETS website, to give you an idea: www.ets.org/gre/revised_general/prepare/verbal_reasoning/text_completion/sample_questions. In addition to learning vocabulary, you also need to learn strategies for discerning the flow of the sentence and ways of getting right answers even if you're unsure what some of the words mean. I teach all of that in my SC courses here: www.dominatethegre.com/gre-prep-courses-online/gre-video-lessons/gre-text-completion/.

      You may want to consult with an MBA admissions consultant. Their expertise is in helping students figure out how to overcome holes in their application. One important thing you can do, though, is get a really high score on either the GMAT or GRE. That's my expertise! Hopefully you'll consider one of my courses. Your decision of which exam to take shouldn't be based on your undergraduate marks. It should be based on the admission requirements of the school(s) you're applying to. You'll obviously want to do as well as you can on either the GRE or GMAT to help make up for lower academics. Here are some other thoughts for you on how to overcome blemishes on your application: www.usnews.com/education/blogs/mba-admissions-strictly-business/articles/2018-02-02/mba-applicants-overcome-background-blemishes.
