This is scary and can be an amazing theme for a horror movie, I can imagine that a person found a sound in the house and type HELP!!! jaajajaj sound terrifying.
if it was linear the frequencies would all appear bunched up close to each other, as the brain perceives pitch in a logarithmic way. one octave higher is a doubling of frequency, so the 12 notes in an octave occupy increasingly large frequency ranges as you go higher
