I'm a 72 year old white male who just saw the breaking competition for the first time. It's great. Wonderful athletes. Needs to be part of the L.A. games.
The kangaroo with her hands held in front like little paws was her best move. That should be the required start move for every Olympic breakdancing routine from now on.
Couldn't find the raw footage. EVERYONE made a video on this. But if anyone is going to piggy back off this girl. I'm riding with Pat. The most entertaining guy in sports talk
Those who are criticizing about breakdancing being a sport in the Olympics, have you try to do some of those moves? It is extremely difficult and it takes great strength, agility, and power to excel in it. Even though I might not be very good at it I can play soccer, basketball, tennis, box, swim, etc., but I could not do those difficult breakdancing moves even if my life depends on it. Most of us would break our arms and necks if we try those moves.
Olympics includes Rhythmic Gymnastics, Ice Dancing, Synchronized Swimming. Many of these breakdance moves require gymnast-level upper body strength, like is needed for the Pommel Horse. Even more, unlike those other sports listed above, the Breaking event does not give the music sound track to the contestants ahead of time to practice routines. They have to come up with the moves *on the fly*. That's why two of the categories are Innovation and Musicality, because they're testing how well you can react to unknown music and beats. Look, you can say dancing shouldn't be included in the olympics, but then you should probably get rid of all judged events, including diving, gymnastics, and anything that requires any artistry and subjective judgement, and go back to just pure track and feed, feets of strength and speed and things which can be objectively measured. Barring that, I'd say Breaking actually is more "sporty" than Ice Dancing or Synchronized Swimming, and actually harder because you don't get the ability to practice a routine for what you're going to be judged on, but must free-style.
@@RayCromwell Your argument/reasoning on breaking is so sound and intelligent I don’t think any of the clowns in here (including the guys in the video) could comprehend it.

@@nunmar100 You can't just call it a joke and not elaborate if you want me to take your opinion seriously. Breaking is a dance and a sport. How is rhythmic gymnastics, synchronised swimming or figure skating any different? They're all judged on certain criteria that is ultimately subjective.

Been my favourite so far, wanted Nicka to win she was so good
Breakin is so much cooler than the Olympics.
I'm a 72 year old white male who just saw the breaking competition for the first time. It's great. Wonderful athletes. Needs to be part of the L.A. games.
FFS this better be a joke
This is embarrassing what a JOKE
This will be inspiration for all our future Aussie BBQs with friends.
The kangaroo with her hands held in front like little paws was her best move. That should be the required start move for every Olympic breakdancing routine from now on.
Bboy world competitions have been around four decades. They already have a scoring format built. I'm glad the Olympics finally implemented it.
these guys are cheeseballs
it should be refined , almost like gymnast, yes have battles but have some singles/and routine heats.
Stick to the side walk pal. You might earn some nickels
@@chopperdown9114you don’t seem to know how rich this sport is, eh.
If she Qualified how bad were the others who didn't make the cut.
‘Brand new sport’
Rock, paper, scissors next then
I think thumb wrestling will be added, too.
Australia just demonstrated what happens when breakdancing goes WRONG.
Oh no - I knew we were in trouble when I saw the thumbnail 🇦🇺🤦🏽♂️🫣🫣🫣
As an Aussie, Raygun is the business. I love it!!!
As an Australian, we are beyond embarrassed. Oh the dhame!!
Nah Dusty, she's a legend. Olympic highlight for me.
Kath Day Knight has some serious competition on the dance floor now
You’re obviously not Aussie if you don’t see the funny side of it. Taking the piss out of break dancing is grouse
@@CarterHayes77 5th gen Aussie - and she was pathetic. It’s the Olympics. She was going for cheap tictoc fame not athletic ability
Are Americans the only country that don’t understand ray gun was taking the piss. Girl has become a legend.
When Australia orders a DEI Breakdancer from Temu...
Being hard doesn't make it a good olympic event lol. It's terrible
Dancing is not a sport dude what the hell are you talking about
I’d rather see cheerleading as an Olympic sport then breakdancing

Your argument/reasoning on breaking is so sound and intelligent I don’t think any of the clowns in here (including the guys in the video) could comprehend it.
So THIS is why Australia banned guns....
The idea of an Olympic qualifier for Breakdancing somehow sounds more ridiculous than the actual event, I would kill to see the ones that didn't qualify 🤣
Why? Care to elaborate? Clearly you didn't watch all the b-girl battles, nor are you familiar with the scene. You'll be eating your own words after you watch the b-boy battles today.
It's a joke as a sport.
@@nunmar100 You can't just call it a joke and not elaborate if you want me to take your opinion seriously. Breaking is a dance and a sport. How is rhythmic gymnastics, synchronised swimming or figure skating any different? They're all judged on certain criteria that is ultimately subjective.
Well, there’s a lot of top dancers that couldn’t make it to the Olympics because each country is only allowed to be represented by two dancers at most. You cant clown on an artform you know nothing about 😂
Please google Kath and kel knight break dance everyone !! I am embarrassed we have a 63 yr old competitor 😂
"is anyone from Australia???"
As a Australian how the hell did Australia send her to the Olympics 🫣
She selected herself apparently which explains so much 😅
Tony is low key one of the funniest people on the show. His reactions and comments are so hilarious and normally negative. 😂
If rhythmic gymnastics is a sport, breaking absolutely should be too. It takes way more athleticism
As the Aussie chick proves your point NOT
She watched movies like step up, You got served and stomp the Yard and thought she could dance lol 😆🤣😆🤣
Say what you will Raygun busted out “the sprinkler” at the Olympics. Legend
That PHD she has in break dancing came handy, that flip flop from back to front on the ground gets me every time.
You guys are too funny
