Comice: My Favorite European Pear

It is pronounced comeece. I grew up and worked around Harry & David (Medford Oregon). The comice pear is the best in my book.

Comice is my most reliable pear here(UK), even when my other varieties(Conference,Williams Bon Chetrien/Bartlett and Santa Maria) suffer blossom loss to late frost the Comice produces well,Conference fruits heavily most years but Comice has a superior size and flavour

I found it best to ripen my Comice pears with a banana. It ripen them in about a week.
