As someone who doesn’t change phones easily.. like i went from iphone 6 to X till now n finally decided to change (by force since iOS don’t update anymore), I find your video so helpful. Time to get out of iPhone zone into android zone.
Just recently bought the Z Flip 5. Had it for about 2weeks after transferring from the iphone 14 pro max; i love it! Its been holding up well and it feels nice to not carry around a super heavy phone in my pocket :) Keep up the great content!
@@phoneux yup!! The z flip 5 is much lighter and has made a HUGE difference I am a nurse and with all the heavy lifting, and moving I do , I don't want no big a$$ phone in my pocket as I am taking care of patients 😂
Yet another informative video. I hope Motorola continues to improve the RAZR, particularly the photo quality, cause I think it would be a cool phone to own.
The issue you just described with text lag on the Razr - I've actually had that a number of times on my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra - seems to be primarily when typing comments on youtube. This makes me wronder if that might be an app/android issue rather then an actual RAZR issue. I could be wrong though.
My husband has razor and his photos are never blurry like shown. I also looked intensely at it for center dip or line and it’s just not noticeable. I wonder if either he got a not quite right phone or my husband got a fluke perfect one.
Totally agree. Ive got the Moto Razr 2024. It's definitely a mid software phone with flagship hardware. Unfortunately they put in these slow lame chips. Ive always been a samsung guy but i got this Razr bc it was $350 brand new and i enjoy the gestures alot by Moto. Wish theyd just combine ideas and companies and rock Apple Iphones world.
Just got the razr for 300$ the flip was 500, seems like a fair pricing for the few things Motorola falls short on. If these were the same price obviously it would be the flip hands down but for almost double i cant justify spending that one a phone i hardly use.
I'm not sure which setting would cause the weather icon to flicker. I started noticing that the number of times it flickers is related to how many notifications I have.
Ive just moved back to a flip 5 after a few months with the s24ultra. Once you get used to the physical size, regular phones just dont cut it. The camera on the flip 5 is very good. The 24ultra camera didnt impress me even with all the lenses. Looking forward to what the flip6 has in store.
Same here, looking forward to flip 6. Let's see if they follow what Motorola did with the Razr+, swapping the ultra wide with a telephoto lens. And the main sensor is reportedly going to be improved. It might be a good upgrade.
@@phoneux photo quality on 2x even 5x digi zoom is pretty good still so as long as the upgrade the sensor to 50mp I'd be happy. Would prefer an optical zoom over the ultra wide but bigger sensor more important to me. We shall see soon hopefully. Great video by the way.
Do you use it with a case? I really want it but don’t want to have to baby it (I ofc won’t throw it around and will be careful like with any phone) but I’m worried normal things will hurt it like putting it in a purse or bag that might have other stuff inside
I go back and forth between case and no case. It can be dangerous to place in a bag or purse with other hard or sharp objects because there is always a chance that something can slip in-between the two halves. It shouldn't be an issue if the phone has its own pocket. I haven't had any issues by not babying the phone, but I've also seen some videos where foldable screens get damaged with supposedly no misuse. I'm not sure if I'm extremely lucky or if the issues are overblown. I wish companies would release reports on warranty claims.
I own a Razr '24 and I'm on about month 4 of using it as a daily driver, and my work phone at the office. Overall it checks all the boxes, and not much wear on mine especially with a case on all the time. My only complaint is that the fingerprint scanner is in a terrible spot. Just by pulling your phone out of your pocket while folded, you can accidentally unlock it and begin tapping stuff. There is also lag in the camera app bc of all the AR and AI bs they tried to add which is always running apparently. I also wish I had expandable storage, especially given the fact even the "base model" I bought was still $760 USD. Overall it's not bad by any means, but I also don't think I'll be buying another foldable after this either.
For the 2023 model year Razr Plus, it was only available in the Magenta color on the website or through T-Mobile if I'm not mistaken. They later came out with the Peach color. The 2024 model year includes leather in all colors.
For anyone looking ive had my zflip 5 for about a year now and mine is damaged but ojectively it was all my fault and most people would never drop or fall on their phone like a kid trying to break a ds like me i recommend my zflip 5 too fun having emulators on flip phone lol i have one crack on my back screen and some damage on the boarder and hinges of the main screen but the same style damage totalted my iphone max 12
I haven't done a full day test to see how long it actually lasts. It really depends how much it's used. I suspect it would last a full day with light use (less than 4 hours), but I doubt it could last with heavy usage. I'll work on a video to test the Razr's battery.
Yes never issues with any of my flips folds. Ppl that normally have issues with the phones are they ones to rough on them. With cracked screen and such. Motorola has the grease down much better.
Good video but you totally missed the mark on covering Good Lock which is a Samsung app that totally changes the cover screen and gives you the same functionality that the Razr plus has.
I agree that Good Lock unlocks that capability. I have other videos talking about Good Lock and the cover screen app drawer. But no improvements have been made to the default cover screen app drawer in the time the Flip 5 has been out. The Razr+ has the ability to add most or all apps out of the box.
How do you find the battery life for both of them? Such a great video, I'm also debating about unihertz Titan just bc I'm sick of just rectangular no fun phones
It depends on the type of use. They are fine for light use, or if you have a setup that keeps them topped off. I'm releasing a video about a full day experience with the Z Flip 5 on Friday with actual screen on time details.
Can i purchase moto razr? What's your opinion on this? Cuz i want to keep that phone for atleast 3 years minimum! Is it's hinge and screen durable and long lasting better than Samsung that's the only point i want to ask
I can't give a definitive answer. We don't have access to any data that will let us know which one is more reliable. It's just worth keeping in mind that this is new tech with extra moving parts. Anything can go wrong with a unit, even if it's generally reliable.
all I really have to say is for the Z Flip5 for the camera is that most of the reason it works well is AI and that is mainly it so it is okay for taking pictures that you don't want to edit but if you more of a person who wants to care about doing editing yourself the Razr might be the one you like
I can't agree with you there. The z flip5 has a much larger sensor. If someone wants to edit the photo without all the AI editing, they can use pro mode and get the raw file.
The battery life is enough on both units for my use. It really depends on how much someone uses the phone though. I've had good results whenever I'm under 4 hours of screen-on-time.
@@Super-c00n no I don’t think there will be enough changes to the 6 for there to be enough of a reason to upgrade yet maybe by the 7 or 8 if there’s been a big change I might upgrade
Surprised a phone can lag in 2024. I just bought the razr+ all issues you talked about fixed. Imma turn off auto update until I can confirm it doesn't bring bugs. I had my last phone for 4 years never lagged one bit never updated. As fast as the day I got it.
Great video, my iPhone 15 Pro Max has more issues than both of these phones together…Apple is definitely on the decline. iPhones are good for 12 months, then all the problems start, specially the 15PM…garbage phone.

its the same weight though

I have the same issue with my 24+ in Messenger and when typing a text.
I have the same exact issue typing TH-cam comments on my note, S8+, etc
Just ordered the razr+. Great video.
Doing the same

The weather icon is how you have it set up. Mine does not do that. The Razr is way better than the Samsung. I have no problems with the camera.
