You really need to establish an official dealer in Europe... so many sweet designs.

I own the smooth brown one. Works great. Carry it every day. Used it when I attended the Ukrainian Cultural Festival. Bought their sausage and cabbage dish, but they gave plastic utensils. Fortunately had my boxcar knife and had no problems.

Hmmm, i might be getting one of these for work. Im a trucker, the modern hobo in a way, and this looks incredibly handy for general cutting, and the fork for cooking in my little skillet. Bacon, sausage, etc. As well as a handy bottle opener.i dont carry metal forks, more to wash, but a convenient one in the pocket i could be fine with.

Had one like this with a spoon back in 1961 when I was a Boy Scout. Official BSA equipment.

I can't recall where I heard it - maybe my mom - but I was told that hobo stood for "HOmeward BOund," and it described that time during the Great Depression when men who were out of work were trying to make their way back to their families. I don't know if it's true, but that's the story that I was told.

That makes sense to me. A lot were traveling workers only because they couldn't find work near their families. Probably a lot of them were just making ends meet until they could go back home.

I wish you guys started using decent steel , cpm154 would be good start , I rather buy cpm 154 for $120 than 8cr13 for $54

We do genuinely like our 8Cr13 and feel we have a really good heat treatment on it, it performs very well for the price. I'd say the majority of my personal knives are 8Cr (this is Jake by the way).
Upgrading the steel is significantly more difficult, time consuming, and expensive that most people realize. You buy in America (or where ever the steel is made), ship to the coast, ship it to your manufacturer (Italy, China, Taiwan, Japan in our case typically), pay import tax on the steel, make sure you can heat treat it expertly, get it made, get it shipped back to America, pay another import tax, and then shipped out to the customer. You have to adjust/change your manufacturing process, and sometimes design, to adjust for the new steel. Grinders, belts, finishers, and polishes have to be replaced more often, etc. We would LOVE to have super steels on all our knives, but we also want knives to be affordable too. Location and supply lines are very important in manufacturing (and economies of scale - we only make some 500-1000 of each model. We aren't all that big a business).
All that said, we HAVE been coming out with some higher grade steels. Most of our older models will probably not be upgraded (generally we only do 1-2 runs of a model).
We have some N690s on many of our Italian knives. We've been using some better 9Cr on some of our higher end Chinese models. We have D2 on several of our fixed blade hunters and some folders as well.
We managed to get some smaller sized blade blanks in CPM-S30V for the Vest Pocket Semi-Skinner: agrussell.com/knife/A-G-Russell-Vest-Pocket-Semi-Skinner--AGLB-C44CF
We are coming out with the Wharncliffe Swayback which will be in M390, very excited about that one: agrussell.com/knife/A-G-Russell-Wharncliffe-Swayback-Jack--RUS-IJ13S
I think that one is fairly reasonably priced. I think warehouse just got them in, I haven't had a chance to inspect them myself yet, but I'll make a video of it when I do.
We are also coming out with the SeaMaster in M390. agrussell.com/knife/A-G-Russell-SeaMaster-2-0--AGSA-218TI
A long reply but hopefully that answers some questions. In all likelihood we'll continue to do a mix of 8Cr13 steels and higher end steels. We're small enough that most models won't get a choice in the steel, but we are trying to give some options at least. Thanks! -Jake

@@AGRussellKnivescompany thanks for the info,I definitely don't mind the 8cr on some knives like this hobo one as you don't really need it.
But yea I get it I just wanted to give you buyers feedback as someone who has close to 30k in knives

The device you wrote that on is most likely made in the China. Made in China is like made in factory, synonymous, thank you globalism.
