How do you fit this into the car? Does it need fixing to the car seat? Obviously you put the belt through the red ring at the top of the seat
Is it possible to remove the backrest to become a booster seat?
Yes, you can remove it, and I believe the base is then usable as a booster seat. Double check with the instructions for the safety aspect. Thanks for watching.

What about the red strap with the buckle?
If you mean the bit at the top, they are for the seat belt to go through and depending on what side of the car the seat is placed dictates which buckle is used.
