Burning Up, Dress You Up, Gambler, my trident. A Madonna at her best, pure and raw with all the strength and enthusiasm of her youth. She reached the sublime with her first album so innovative and with spacey beats for the time. Then she followed that style with Dress You Up and Gambler. You can't replicate lightning. It's like Michael Jackson with Thriller, after that album he made other beautiful ones, but not iconic and on which he built his myth like Thriller, so Madonna, she built her myth on the first album and on Like A Virgin and it has crystallized.

I must say, I have some knowledge about Madonna, and while the analysis may not be completely perfect, I believe a few slight changes could be made. Overall, it is a masterpiece and an impressive way to examine her body of work. I would even go so far as to suggest that it could be used as a video interlude on the Celebration tour - that's how good it is.

There are so many great memories. Madonna was my first stadium concert in 1990. Blonde Ambition is still one of the best, top 3 all-time performances of all the many, many, many shows I've ever seen since. Now that I really think about it, it might be number 1.

Some videos are missing. In 1987, mtv did used footage from the WTG tour as the video to promote it. Same with Hanky Panky, the footage from the Toronto show of the BAT in 1990 was used as the video. For Buenos Aires and Another Suitcase in Another Hall, just like Don’t Cry For Me Argentina, mtv and its sister station broadcast the clip from the movie Évita. They used to be on her website in the video section (back in the 2000s) but they’ve been removed since.
30s prohibition era, 50s hollywood era, 70s disco era had a huge influence on her. She pays tribute to these all the time. Plus her reinvention. She has incredible marketing brains.
