Hope you enjoyed this week's video everyone - it was a lot of editing and we only just managed to upload it last night 😅 What's your favourite trail of all time?
We loved NZ actually. Going over the top of the coromandles about 20 years ago. I love the outback though. Being an Aussie I think it's in my blood. I did like the Pyrenees though & I was there in winter. Beautiful mountains. 😊
Your cinematic drone shots coupled with your music choices certainly make these videos a must watch. Thankyou both for your effort in bringing this to us
Wow, what a fantastic find! Something new and beautiful beyond each switch-back. Bucket-list drive for me. Your music choices, along with editing, were particularly apt in this episode. Well done! Happy trails!
It's time to 🚀 this channel to 1 million subscribers. Love the cinametic approach without being over dramatic. Thanks for the Wikiloc tip. That Joan Rover has more nice routes for my future trips. 🤠🙏🏼
Great stuff! If anything show more of the day to day stuff, living in the camper, maintenance, oil checks, cooking etc. The interior build, what works great and what could be improved. Really impressive that the old volvo engine/transmission just chugs along. I guess since you planned to replace it, it didn’t get much❤
The work you do on getting all your videos together is just fantastic and every time I watch one I can’t but think how many kilometres you walk Ange, but you knock it out of the park every week.Thankyou.
Just WOW! that scenery us epic. Great cinematic footage. I love the music too. So many people choose songs that are too distracting. Look forward to the next episode. Hope you all have a lovely chill Xmas. In northern Victoria today it's a definately pool day at 38c 😊
In September I was about to make a tour to the Pyrenees and northern Spain. After 40 km my alternator broke down and it took over two weeks to get a spare part and free time in the garage. In the end my holidays ended and the Pyrenees were still on my bucket list. Now the tour is planned for next September. Meanwhile you give me so much inspiration. Thanks for that and merry Christmas!!!!
Come to Portugal, you won't regret it, behind the mountains it's wonderful, from the coast and Gerês to Bragança and back into Spain again, have a good trip and good adventuresMerry Xmas!!!
We made a quick family trip to Europe exactly a decade ago, I had always wanted to se Andorra so we drove a little bit in the Pyrenees. Of course we were in a small 4 door rental so nothing off-road. We may be back next year and definitely want to explore more in Spain too. PS, I am fluent in Spanish but cannot manage Catalan either. Merry Christmas and enjoy the adventure.
Thank you so much for watching all the way from India and thanks for the feedback! We'll try to film more from the inside but it's hard sometimes with a toddler 😅
Good morning from Germany guys, great video, just spectacular views from a fantastic track ( well done Ang') and hope you find a beautiful camp spot for Christmas. Don't forget to find a 'Santa' for Oakley 😉. Hoping for one more episode so just a Merry Christmas to the three of you for now. Drive safe 🤗
Some great clips this week. A beautiful part of Europe. If you’re chasing adventure and (slightly) warmer temps during the winter, do consider the Atlas Mountains in Morocco. A short hop from Spain. Relatively painless border cross. Check out the itchyboots vids of that region. Stunning, plus the desert nearby.
Wonderful scenery, stunning views and a beautiful family enjoying every moment here’s wishing you all a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year, awaiting with batted breath for more of the same.
The mountains were majestic and to think you had it all to yourselves, many thanks for posting and hope you all have a great Christmas .. keep safe. 🏔🌍🚚🎄🎅
I think we can now say you are the masters of epic opening scenes! That track is a little like the Victorian high country with better roads. May I ask is oakley speaking both French and English? Great video and very much enjoying this series. Merry Christmas!
The door tops are most likely identical to the series landrovers - the window tracks are the same as the series and the Aust Perentie 4x4 - gearbox linkages bushes are VW t4 Transporter bushes. Awsome vehicles. I really liked te single gear stick for both high and low range and the syncromesh low range box operation ( made for seamless high low range shofts on the move)
In retrospect it was good that your drive shaft broke when it did, it would have been much more problematic if it had waited until you were in the mountains.
If you going to Morocco you must go to Ouarzazate just south of Marrakesh and follow the Atlas mountain east. Its amazing gravel roads up in the mountains to Merzouga desert. I done that 4 times with offroad bike and its amazing.
You really need to keep close to Oakley anytime you are out in the open. Seeing those birds of prey flying around were very likely scoping him out. These raptors can easily lift a small child and fly off with him. There are too many instances of this kind of thing happening and just wanted to make sure you are very aware of it. Love the videos and keep up the good work.
Great vid, great views, great trail, have a great christmas and a good New Year. Would that trail be suitable for a Land Cruiser ?. Umm what do you do if somebody is coming the other way ?.
The filming with the handheld is a great way to get exercise, but have you thought of using the drone for stationary shots as well? Just let it hover and take the coming/going stuff as well.
To be honest, the drone is a massive pain in the butt to use (ours in particular) , pair that with poor battery life, longer charge times and a lower quality lens than our Sony
Great views & nice trails! ...A question: You've been driving for a while now. Is there anything about the veichle or the build that you regret doing (or not doing), or anything that you miss having with you?
Beautiful video guys 👍🏻 How good are the pyrenees, hey? There are bears and wolves in the mountains. I loved it there, but the Bardenas Reales were my favourite in Spain.
Beautiful mountains, remind me of the Rockies. Is starlink available there? If so, it is awesome. Also those scooter bikes are awesome for learning balance
Yes Starlink is available, it might need to be a future upgrade, especially for these remote mountain areas! Oakley is slowly learning to use the balance bike :) thanks for watching!
Hola bienvenido a mi tierra Española🇪🇸que disfruteis con vuestra camper por todo los caminos de mi España🇪🇸 OBSERVACION : SI VAJAIS AL SUR D ESPAÑA 🇪🇸 MALAGA 🇪🇸NOS PODEMOS CONOCER Y TOMAMOS CAFÉ Y ADEMAS LE PUEDO SUGERIR ALGUNA RUTA , FELIZ NAVIDAD
Are you still intending to put a Diesel in your "not a truck"? Seem to be doing pretty well with gas but in Darkest Africa diesel may be easier to get.
Do you know that the only deserts in Europe are in Spain : - Tabernas, Almeria. The Tabernas desert is the largest in Spain. - The Gorafe desert, Andalusia. - Los Monegros Desert, Aragon. - Abanilla Desert, Murcia. - Bardenas Reales desert, Navarre. With your photografic skills... Many of the spaghetti Westerns films produced in 1960:s, such as the "Terence Hill & Bud Spencer films", were actually filmed in these spanish deserts.
Awesome video ,love it , from another kiwi living in Perth. How does Oakley go in skadi given he's not in between you and behind ? Haven't heard a peep out of him in any of the driving shots so assume he loves it or good editing 😂
Thank you so much Mark for watching and following along! He often naps while we drive, he's used to the truck movements/noise with Bowser or we put a little cartoon for him if he's awake, he's been a real trooper :)
Be carefull, in Spain you can not camp anywhere you want, only in special sites. Also you can not start a fire anywhere, only in special sites that are for barbacue. For example you can park on the street , but you can not extend your roof and sleep there. Spain is very very restricted place to overland.
Hey! We actually got some information from local police about the difference between "estacionar" and "acampar". We don't have anything on the outside, no windows opened, our pop top doesn't protude from the perimeter of the vehicle (which is what matters). We also don't camp on the streets. Thanks for watching :)
Just be aware. Northern Spain has wolves, just keep an eye out. I have seen packs, they are beautiful and impressive but would be formidable. Hope you get to see from a distance. Also there are lots wild dogs and Bore to keep an eye out for.
@@TheOutFitthe last ones I saw running across the motorway by Burgos (near Bilbao), I near hit the lead wolf, I hit the brakes so hard the ABS kicked in, didn’t faze the wolf he/she, just trotted in front of me with just a fleeting glance, when I first saw it at the side of the motorway, I thought it was a dark German Shepherd, until I got close (10m?), they are massive! The rest of the pack followed, jumping the fence and centre reservation / armco with ease, stopping both lanes on both sides of the motorway, luckless traffic was light. There were six of them. Also look out for wild bore/pig crosses, they can have shaggy coats and long tails, and from a distance might be mistake a very large and fat/hairy dog… very strange beasts! The Spanish call them Cerdoli… look them up 👍
Hi, I am an old fan though but I lost you for a while. It took me a while to recognize you, probably because I had always associated you with your old vehicles. If you permit me, a word of advice. Please, do not leave the little boy in the open, even with you standing just a few feet away, he can be picked up by an eagle. Thanks.
Hope you enjoyed this week's video everyone - it was a lot of editing and we only just managed to upload it last night 😅

@klaasbloem thank you so much Klaas for the nice feedback, it means a lot!
Your cinematic drone shots coupled with your music choices certainly make these videos a must watch. Thankyou both for your effort in bringing this to us
Thanks to Ang for running about all over the place to get the shots. Cold feet!
You're welcome! The river crossing was an icy one 🤣
Wow, what a fantastic find! Something new and beautiful beyond each switch-back. Bucket-list drive for me. Your music choices, along with editing, were particularly apt in this episode. Well done! Happy trails!
Your kid is going to have some sweet memories to look back on in a few years. As I think the Aussie’s say good on ya mate

I love to follow you. And once again your intro video is epic. Goosebumps.
Beautiful landscape, beautiful truck and merry Christmas guys.
Fantastic trail and views. Thanks for sharing the scenery.
Thank you so much for taking the time to comment and for watching :)
Might be interesting if you strapped a trail cam to the outside of the vehicle overnight to pick up nocturnal wildlife.
Good idea!
Great video! From icy puddles, werewolves, and strange chips to funny conversation😂 and breathtaking views! Grand slam guys!
Wow - made all those hours on the running gear worthwhile. Stunning. Ride on!
Thank you so much for taking the time to comment, much appreciated!

amazing scenery, just great track looks like a very enjoyable drive
Great place. Would it be an idea if you guys create sort of a map of the places you go or have been? Just to follow the footsteps in case …
Thank you so much! We'll be releasing an e-book of all our favorite camp spots/tracks :)
Another great video from you guys. Spectacular scenery again. What a fabulous Volvo you've put together.
The scenery is just spectacular!!
Spain is really blowing us away! Thank you for watching :)

What a beautiful journey!
Glad to see you guys back on the road. Looking forward to see what your up to 👌
That sign was just explaining the geology of the mountain area.
Thanks for letting us know :)
I just used an app on my phone "Google Translate". It uses the camera and translates real time.

Would that trail be suitable for a Land Cruiser ?.
Umm what do you do if somebody is coming the other way ?.
Happy holidays 🎉🎉🎉
I’d love to be able to walk in to a dealership and buy a 6x6 to deck out like this. What’s the closest options?
What A Great Year! MERRY CHRISTMAS To Y'all, And May 2025 Be Your Best Year Ever, From South Georgia, USA.
Omg that was epic❤❤❤❤
Thanks for sharing such nice feedback!
Here is a tip, visit Oix in Catalunya, Teruel and Las Majadas (Catalla Manacha). Don't forget to visit Cuidad encantada.
Thanks for the tips!
Oops, I made a mistake! It is Castilla Mancha.
There are also Roman roads in the Pyrenees.
The filming with the handheld is a great way to get exercise, but have you thought of using the drone for stationary shots as well? Just let it hover and take the coming/going stuff as well.
The drone doesn't have audio and the same lens compression our Sony camera has, we love having the mix of both :)
To be honest, the drone is a massive pain in the butt to use (ours in particular) , pair that with poor battery life, longer charge times and a lower quality lens than our Sony

MERRY CHRISTMAS and A VERY Happy New year 👍👍👍👍
YOU NEED TO TENSION YOUR FAN BELT OR SPRAY BELT LUBE FOR SNOW CONDITIONS.
Apart from the deserts, I must also sent you to a stunning park of cliffs and water in a canyon:
Monasterio de Piedra in the in province of Zaragoza
Unfortunately it seems closed now :(
There are wolfs and bears in northern Spain!!
Go to Astúrias ! Amazing
What are you using for overnight camping heat? Diesel heater?

On a side note how are you liking those tires (tyres)
Just a heads up, your phone camera should be able to translate most.....
Stay safe
Only with internet - I didn't have Catalan saved as an offline language.
You said there would be more 'build' material coming?
- So, when's the diesel engine coming? That Jurassic Volvo B30 is an unnecessary gas guzzler...

Probably a Wolf.
