In addition to Walter Becker, Donald Fagan and the Steely Dan entourage the addition of Michael McDonald at backup vocals makes Peg a soulful and timeless song.
Best I've ever heard John cover this solo, and I've heard Him play it a lot, between Steely Dan and the Dukes of September. Rest in peace, Walter Becker.
Discovered The Dan at California Jam in April 1974 when Rikki Don’t Lose That Number was played on the PA. Saw them the first time at UCSB Rob Gym in Dec of that year (Jeff Pocaro, Victor Feldman, Michael McDonald who was unknown)…been a fan since, saw them twice more. LOVE their music!
Donald & Walter ( & Co. ) are Wizards from some other World. On the cutting~edge of Tech., with skill unequalled since. If we're ever to be visited by people from another World, this music is how we should greet them, I think.
Thanks TK, ljust spent an hour watching your Dan videos, best hour of my whole week!
You just made my day !
Your great 👍 @@thomaseliason8376
This, THIS was the top 40 hit that got me into SD! 😁 And I have never looked back.
They Pegged it with this Song! To turn a name like Peg into a Music Masterpiece is Pure Genius!

Who could ask for a better backup singer!?
@@JefferySmoot No one!
I didn't know that was Michael McDonald but in retrospect, I probably should have figured that out. One of the best songs ever.
Great , every weekend evening should be like this. The intro played by the woodwinds and brass is presented on my Roland E5 keyboard arranger.🤩

Tkv. Right on time. As usual. Nicework
Michael McDonald looks like he's having fun this is one nice track🎶
He didn't have to carry the load. It looks like he was just having fun playing with a fellow legend.
16 in 1976 first record I bought was the royal scam. Such great songs.
Thank you for making videos for songs that dont have one
The two songs this and Riki he pours his soul out
Not too shabby here, even in the rough video...
My favorite song 🎵💕
I think it's the F'in briliant Larry Carlton on guitar.
Most definitely, Donald Fagan does Ray Charles at the piano. He isn't blind, but you'd think so from the wonderful movements.
A hit from kool hitmakers.
Love it peg
Peg rock my world
Thomas.....YEA YOU DID IT....AGAIN

Michael McDonald as a backup singer. Only Steely Dan.
Who is on guitar?
I think it's Larry Carlton. Can I get a ruling?
