The crocodile planned to trick the monkey and take his heart. But the clever monkey realized the crocodile's plan. He told the crocodile that he left his heart in the tree and convinced him to go back. The monkey quickly climbed up the tree, safe from the crocodile. They were no longer friends because true friends don't trick each other.
