'INVENTOR ACCORDION AND THE FIRST MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS AND ELECTRONIC' carny AN ITALIAN IN 1890
Generalmusic originated in 1890 when it was first built by Antonio Galanti accordion with the name "Premiata Factory Galanti accordion". In 1920 the brothers Galanti, Antonio's son, had the idea to open a US branch in New York called "Galanti Bros." to take advantage of the huge market created by Italian immigrants and natives in America. Former factory GEM (Elka former) industrial area Squartabue - Recanati was born the brand GEM by Matthew Galanti (Egidio Galanti Mondaino) and the company developed the first electric organ Italian. Just ten years after the brand was created LEM (Laboratory Electro Music) dedicated to the development of audio broadcasting systems. The brands had a fast growth to become very popular first in Italy and then in the world. Over the years, she was taken over the prestigious firm of acoustic pianos Schulze Pollmann (1972) and started a partnership for the development of electronic liturgical organs with Ahlborn (1980). In 1989 it was finally acquired the brand Elka, Castelfidardo. Worth noting that in 1974 the group opened its own laboratory research and development in the United States. In the early 2000s he created a division (GMD) for distribution in Italy of some prestigious brands (including AKG, Fostex, Takamine, Peavy, Toca). The group, in its moment of greatest success, came to employ about 400 people with a catalog of over 200 products exported to over 80 countries with divisions in Germany, Benelux and the United States (Generalmusic Corp.) In the mid 2000s the company entered an irreversible crisis failing to repeat the sales success of the previous years and the court of Rimini started bankruptcy proceedings 23/06/2011. In 1962 Generalmusic produced the Mini Gem he had as a feature portability and integrated amplification and that was the first great success of sales. The GEM then continued to produce in the 60s and 80s electronic organs of success are cited including the Joker 61, the GEM F3, the Sprinter 49B, 61B and the Jumbo in different versions (with or without sections rhythmic and automatic). Was simultaneously launched Wk3 that, albeit with less features of the flagship, it retained the ability to make karaoke also on external TV through a special interface optional. The .wk3 was updated over the years before in WK2 (also available wk2HD HDD preloaded version of Bases and expanders with specific functions for accordionists) and in version WK2000 HD. In the 2000s it was made a version of this simplified and free hard-drive called WK1 then updated in Wk1000. In 2002 it was presented that Genesys has introduced management functions of MP3 and WAV audio and audio recording on integrated hard disk, with player / CD burner (DVD on subsequent versions S and sull'Expander XP). Keith Emerson (keyboards of ELP) declared that "The PRO2 has the best stamp of grand piano I've ever heard in a digital keyboard - and I tried them all. The evolution of this series came in 2001 with the Promega 3 and subsequently with Promega2 and expander RP-X. This product line was the first to benefit from the then powerful microprocessor DRAKE (acronym of DSP-Risc-Advanced-Keyboard-Engine) to 30bit and 50 Mips completely developed by Generalmusic in collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, whose development cost $ 4 million at the time. This allowed him to improve processor technologies already present on the PRO Series but above all, first time on a piano, to overcome the technology of sampling: the Vintage sounds of pianos Rhodes, Wurlitzer, Clavinet) were in fact totally generated from a physical model owner. The Promega 3, from a vintage look, it was also equipped with automated faders. This piano was an instant critical acclaim for sound quality, among the main users there were keyboardist Rick Wakeman of Yes. The promega 2 from the line-art was each lighter, reduced in some function (there were no motorized faders , polyphony went from 320 to 128 known and there was no sound bank "orchestra / pads") of Promega3 but the main sounds were the same. Both instruments were highly appreciated the two main sounds of acoustic piano derived from Fazioli F308 and Steinway & Sons grand piano. th-cam.com/video/ZstF0fxq59w/w-d-xo.html

There are so many organs made by Galanti, that are all related to the Mini GEM, you should do a whole episode on the Jumbos, Apollos, Napolis, Clippers, Caravans, 61TT, Jaguar etc. That Gemini sounds great BTW

I visited Castelfidardo during the summer holidays this year. We actually went to Le Marche for the exact reason but found almost nothing about the history of the manufacture of electronic instruments in the region. Nobody could for instance tell me where the Crumar factory used to be, although I found the Via Crucuianelli. The only other thing I found in the end where the former General Muisc works. It was still a great holiday but it's a shame this stuff is so forgotten. Thanks for this video. An other reason for me to improve on my Italian.
By the way: I own a Farfisa Syntorchestra, Crumar 2003, Elka X-30, GEM S3 Turbo and GEM Promega 3 but still have a lot of others on my wishlist. All are great instruments! The Promega, featured in this video, for instance still blows most virtual piano's out of the water..

Purtroppo i vandali distruggono continuamente tutto.

Gem Deserves a pat on the Back, They were way ahead of the times as far as
sounds and styles go, Yamaha is taking all the credit for what they are doing
with there Keyboards, Like the Tyrus 3 4 and 5, The Genos EXE, Don't get me
wrong Great Keyboards, But General music was doing this kind of TECK with
there Gem Keyboards. I played a Gem CD Keyboard way back in 1987 in a
Music shop in Cannock, And don't forget these were middle of the road, not
3 £4000 Keyboards, the music shop put one on for me, and i was shocked at
how good these Keyboards were. Then i played one at a friends house don't
remember the Model number, But it was a Gem workstation, The sounds
were proper sampled instruments, The guitars were Amazing, I played the
shadows on it, Put reverb on the guitar, And it sounded like Hank Marvin was
stood wright there in the room. He was Gonna sell it to me till i made it sound
like it should, And the Styles were on par with what Yamaha are doing now.
So this Teck has been around for Decades. Now Yamaha are steeling all the
Glory. And to be Honest Technics was way ahead of what Yamaha was
Doing at the time to, I had a Mini Casio back in 1987 it was a special model,
I tell you what is was like listening to a record, The sound board on that thing
was Amazing. Can't remember the model No though. It had an 8 track studio
built into it, And i recorded an American Trilogy, And just can't help Believing.
and half way through i thought this is really good, I was Blown away by this
little thing. Anyway, Gem was way ahead of the times for home Keyboards.
I miss them to be honest. Before Yamaha had real Competition, Yamaha
have stole half of Gems and Technics Ideas and stuck them into there units.
