the value is basically the tones from light,mid tone and darker tone on the other hand the details refers to the small skin textures and highlights

The dark areas are more of charcoal and the mid tones and highlights are graphite, besides i use charcoal and graphite powder as well

the spray is a fixative, it's purpose is to fix the pencil marks or shading onto the paper which cannot be easily erased.
