This is spot on. +1 handicap here and starting struggling w/ pull draw ball flights. Got on a launch monitor and path was 5-6 degrees in to out (normally it’s 2). Adjusted by getting the handle to exit around my body w/ much more body rotation and the path cleaned up; face stabilized. I imagined a hockey player hitting a slap shot (never played hockey though) or holding a broom handle w/ a split grip. Ball flights immediately came out the proper window and didn’t over-draw. The feeling of connection was obvious. This is an excellent video sincinctly verbalized!
Thanks so much for your comments, it’s amazing how much the path can change without changing where you are in the downswing! Keep up the good work and best of luck with your golf!
56 years ago i was a 16 year old 2 handicap,Johnny Revolta was teaching me this in an embarrassing way. When he gave lessons there was seating provided for people to watch as he taught many top players.I had 20 people watching me.I hit a couple nice shots and he said very good. Then he said :I want you to hit ground balls to the fence at the left of the range. I hit two more regular shors and then he grabbed my club and said : the lessons over unless you do as i say:... I listened and he improved me quite a bit .
Thank you. Important information. I have a slightly different swing station aiming at the same issue. I put two aiming sticks representing the club plane on each side (left and right) just inside the ball to target line. The critical one is the left stick. At first I put the shaft against the stick to feel the plane in the follow through then I make very slow rehearsal swings in the station nearly touching the sticks. After this I move outside the station and try to experience the same feels, and finally replicate it as I hit a ball. By moving between the station and the “reality” I engrave the feels. Olle
It maybe down to D plane (worth looking up) basically the more you hit down the more left you need to swing, so longer clubs, where the angle of attack is shallower the path wouldn’t need to be as left. This of course does depend on what shot shape you’re trying to hit!
All good points John! I like the use of the alignment sticks to represent the proper swing path the club should be taking. I try to swing on an in to out to in path, so I don't really have a problem with the point you're making. Good Job! Keep up the good work!!
Great video. I have been trying to work on this. Can you give more details on the set up of the cane? You said 60 degrees and 18 or so inches in front of the ball is that toward the target (forward ) or away from you? I have set this type of station up and have had the ball strike the cane. Not good with a real golf ball
I would vary depending on the club length / lie angle and how much you’re trying to exaggerate move. It was a foot and a half towards the target. The base was far enough in front of me that, my club could miss just on the inside. It was set a 60 degrees on the swing plate.
Apologies for the delayed response. The lead arm has to lift somewhat in the backswing to get to the top. The feel of connecting across chest would be good if your too steep.

Great way to practice Olle 👍🏻
I manage to hit my shorter irons really nicely thinking about exiting left... But longer irons bit more erratic somehow..

Very useful swing path video. If you believe in the benefit of the L to L method. Wonder if there is a way of applying it to this swing path video.
Yes, absolutely
@@TruGolfAcademy Is it worth doing a video? The transition from one L to the other. Is confusing to me. And perhaps to others.

Thar's good to know! Feel a lot more comfortable with the points being shown, now!
Always excellent! Thanks

@@TruGolfAcademy Very helpful thanks, I will try it as you described
Do you keep your left arm against your chest on the backswing and the downswing?

Great tips as usual. Why have you not got more subscribers? they are really missing out.
I’m trying, thanks Graeme
Is it the same action for the woods?
Same feel for sure, the hands tend not to move as far inwards, due to the angle of attack being up rather than down.
It's unmistakably plain, that it's unquestionably the plane.
I feel as if the back of my left hand is rotating around my left leg
Great feel 👍🏻
