    My cycle since this semester began is:
    Waking up and feeling tired, unmotivated and lazy.
    Then taking the boring classes (8am-4pm) but there are 2 break hours.
    After classes, if I feel good, do homework or take notes for previous lectures. But when I feel unmotivated (most time) just procrastinate a lot with cellphone or simply I go to sleep.
    The day is about to end and didn't do my tasks, then I feel guilty, sad, stressed.
    College is kinda hard when it's completely online...

      That’s exactly what I do.
      I start to stress about my homework then I start sorting it out, I continue to stress about it and say I’ll do it the next day which ends up rushed.

    I've been feeling unmotivated lately with schoolwork. As much as I don't want my grade to continue falling, I feel so distracted with other things and never work on/ turn in my homework. It's nice to know that others are dealing with this as well.

    I don't vent in public often.. but this has been one of my hugest problems.
    I relate to so many of these problems and on top of all that, I have ADHD and clinical depression.
    I've gotten (and still get) so angry at myself when I can't make myself do something I used to do and love or to do something new and scary, including bettering my mental health. Almost anything that requires a lot of work either loses my interest or I get overwhelmed and discouraged no matter how I look at it
    It feels so horrible being trapped in your own mind like that.

    I’ve felt this way for a while now. I thought it was laziness but all the things I used to love just seem uninteresting to me now. I’ve tried to step up by making myself do stuff but it’s just not working. It doesn’t even help that I’m not happy where I am now. I’m still not independent so I can’t just leave. I wish I could tho...... it’s really hard these days....
    What’s weird is I feel happier and excited at night but once it’s daytime it’s back to square 1...

    When I’m unmotivated I literally can’t do what I need to do which is why I’m a procrastinator. I also get that burst of energy and that’s when I get all my work done.

I was just upset a minute ago because I feel so unmotivated and I lost hope to everything that I feel frustrated because I don't know what's wrong with me, which caused me to feel "lazy" and it just worsens because I get yelled a lot and it's just really frustrating when no one really understands.

      @@thepizzafoogle5481 school isn't much about the proccess but it's more about the end-goal. Which to most is a degree, which is needed for certain jobs like lawyers, doctors, psychologists, etc. Like, are you ever gonna need the pythagorean thereom? No, probably not, but it's part of a bigger picture that's pretty essential for certain jobs. This does not mean you absolutely need a degree tho, there are more jobs that don't require a degree than there are that do however finding one that pays good is gonna be harder. But keep in mind, even a degree doesn't guarantee a job.

      @@thepizzafoogle5481 that last part is sadly true in some countries(the biggest example being america). Luckily i live in central europe and colleges and university are much cheaper here. Still very expensive, but not enough to put you in a life-time of debt. Imo college and university should be free or at the very least affordable for everyone.

    I've recently been feeling unmotivated, waking up feeling tired and not up for facing the day and being hard on myself for knowing what I should be doing but not having the effort to do it. While many of the reasons mentioned in this video can reflect on that, I believe now that the main reason is my brain getting accustomed to activities that releases high levels of dopamine (the desire hormone). Which is why I started a new mood journal, listing all the activities I complete each day that release low levels of dopamine. Whether it be simply getting dressed, making the bed or just brushing my teeth. Anything I can do before doing any of the high dopamine activities makes me feel more satisfied and like I've actually earned the desirable activities at the end of the day!

    One thing that unmotivate's people is that to make progress you have to go trough repetition on that certain thing, people want quick results. Make yourself productive daily, notice your surrounding and how they're effecting you.

    For me it always feels like I'm never doing enough, that I'M not good enough. It feels overwelming when I have no idea what I really want. The best way to explain it is, it feels like I'm walking through a dark tunnel but I can't see the end of it. No matter how much I move forward it always feels like I'm stuck in this tunnel forever.

    literally just searched this yesterday in hopes of finding something to help me. all ive been doing for the past year and a half is sitting on my ass doing nothing with my life. im 17 years old without a permit, a car, havent been to school in 2 weeks, havent had an hourly job, and i struggle to even keep my room clean or care about general hygene.
    i always struggled with this since i was a kid and its been something thats really held me back. but its been getting much worse over the years. it really started showing itself by the time i was 12 where i would go to extreme lengths to procrastinate on doing things my parents asked me to do; chores seemed like daunting day enders that were insurpassable in my head.
    not the normal relatable 12 year old behavior though, it was really severe and i had no control over it.
    it always seemed like everything was so much easier for everyone else but required special attention and extensive help for me all throughout school to every aspect of my life. things like remembering to bring my coat home or even forgetting my back pack sometimes.
    i see importance in nothing and ive always been unmotivated to do anything like make friends, find hobbys, find something im good at, etc...
    now im wondering if somethings just fucked up in the head and i need a perscrption and a heavy evaluation or something. but ive been to numerous different psychiatrists and none of them have been able to help me

    I felt unmotivated for months. I couldn't do anything and what's worse, I didn't want anything. I felt so tired all the time, and my parents transfered me to another school. It helped! Now I enjoy studying and can do more things, that I actually want to do.))

    I love watching your channel, for a variety of reasons.
    -It makes me feel more confident about my sexuality and gender identity
    -It helps me realize that I'm not all flaws and mistakes
    -It gives me something to think about while trying to sleep, blocking out anxiety.
    This specific video really helped me. Last month, my dog was put down and I've been thinking I'm coping with it well. However, I feel unmotivated, tired, and overall disappointed in myself. I have not talked to my parents about this, and refuse to do so (they'll send me to a Christian counselor, and last time she made things worst). I've realized that it's okay to take a break, and instead of doing things to make others satisfied I should focus on *my* mental health (for now). Instead of working on a time-consuming art piece made for my friends, I can sit down and doodle my comforts that calm me down.

    all of them combined. i've been living a very unhealthy life for the last 6 months. i feel lost. i feel like whatever i'm doing won't change anything. overwhelmed, tired and empty. i grew tired of life each passing day and having no one i trust enough to share it makes it worse.
    real sorry for bursting out, venting over here, i just feel like i'm invisible. and thanks for the video, now i acknowledge the reasons why i'm extremely lacking in motivation

Been struggling with depression for about 12 years now (started with 16, now I‘m 28). I was always put down as being lazy, even though I was overwealmed with everything. Right now, I‘m struggling to figure out what I TRULY want in life - If anything I did over the years was actually worth it…
    I‘m lost and still trying to find my way. But I hope for others that they can find their way in life. For anyone who reads this: You are worth it, I believe in you that you can achieve your goals and find happiness in life. I‘m proud of you for everything you have accomplished so far.

    1. I find FEAR a great motivator! Was diagnosed as diabetic and that finally got me to lose weight, etc. etc. So make sure everything important can be related to FEAR. :D

    WOW this video really opened my eyes, I have recently felt super unmotivated. I didn't do as well as I wanted at 6th form and I'm having to do another year. This was because I still am unsure of what career I should pursue. I have been pretty depressed since I lost my part time Job in 2022 and my parents have pressured me to get another job since. All of the points on this video have related to me entirely. I have been constantly comparing myself to others in my age group (18) who seem to have there life sorted out. I have had a lot of setbacks since leaving secondary school, I want to make a comeback thank you Psych2Go for sharing this educational content. To anybody who's going through these struggles you are not alone, sometimes God holds you back so that you can avoid anything that doesn't serve you. Good luck guys, we've got this!! 🙏💪🙌

      Omg, weirdly enough, I'm going through something similar right now. I'm an honor student too and currently I'm failing on school stuff because I haven't been doing my activities and all. When I saw my grades it just felt numb, like I don't care about it at all but I know I should. For months I've been switching between not caring and then suddenly feeling guilty and horrible for acting like this. But somehow I just couldn't bring myself to do them.

    Right now, I feel like all of these factors are affecting me. I'm trying to grow my youtube channel to be as successful as it can be, but right now I feel like I'm losing a bit of motivation, and its really worrying me because I want this to be the avenue that I take in my life, there isn't any other lifestyle that I would prefer having. I also recently had a job that I lost because the place closed down, and that may be the biggest factor in how I'm feeling. This video was helpful in addressing my issues, though I can't say if my problems are fixed, that may take time.

    I can dance and move around and get errands done but I need to buy new shoes and I am feeling so lazy to do that. Making a decision (selecting what to buy) is hard for me, that's why 😂

      Maybe I can help! You first need to figure out what shoes you need. Sneakers are a go to option if you can't choose which one you want. Then you can choose a colour you want, like black or maybe blue. You can choose your favorite colour! Then, you should probably set a budget to whatever you can afford. And there you go!!
