I would of like to see how young he came back to Chung yi and the wedding under sea to live ever after 💕💕💕💕 maybe once all the English subtitle version is completely out it’ll make more sense 😊

Actually, I never saw the ending (cliff scene with her) as his thoughts. I saw it as the fast forward present of what happened. I have done/studied a bit of film production in my uni days (ages ago 🤪, am def no expert) but I found that the editors rushed the ending too much for this scene. I never saw it as his thoughts (last cliff scene with her) because the scene of his thoughts at the end had a dream like filter to it, BUT there was a slight blank/white (time passing) pause before the cliff scene with her, and the cliff scene was extremely clear and bright, to insinuate reality with no dream or thought like filter to it. I feel that even if they didn’t want to include the scene of how they finally reunited (fishing scene in the book), they could have at least added a 2-3seconds scene of them finally meeting/reuniting again even if it was just of him seeing her again with a close up shot of their facial expression, a millisecond of a blank/black pause then followed by the last scene at the cliff with her. That would have been way better. Nevertheless it was a happy ending to me and I loved this drama very much. 🤪♥️
Ji Yunhe don't die in the volcano. She was only sealed to imprison Shunde. Changyi merman pearl help Yunhe to stay alive inside the volcano. Her fox blood can help her to combat the fire plus the healing magic of the merman pearl. Changyi knows it that's why he agree to wait for her return. He knows they are a fated mate and he loves Yunhe so he support her decision as he knows the attitude of his wife. When Shunde dispersed after 300 years in the same duration Yunhe fox tail transform into a mermaid tail. Then she fly out the volcano and she was looking for her husband. While waiting the return of his beloved Changyi go fishing everyday with a fishing rood. One day Changyi fish her from the sea and they laugh and hug each other. This was cut out from the series
They ruined the drama! They should’ve followed the ending of the novel. It was a happy ending for the main lead, not like this drama ending that we can’t even tell if she really returned or if he’s just imagining it. Like how in the world does she suddenly have a mermaid tail when she’s a nine tails fox? Doesn’t make sense at all.
She has the mermaid pearl. So some power transferred to her. And she grew a tail. Novel ending didn't make sense either. Cz if changyi grew back his tail and yunhe had legs. How can they be together?
Amazing YUN HE sacrifice scene... but more amazing was CHANG YI understanding her intention and letting her go. He struggle the entire drama long with this problem, since he promised her back in Episode 14 to be and do everything together... and this time he had to break up his promise... because he was the only one able to seal that place forever in an eternal cover of ice.... 😭 😭 😭 One last kiss... one last flow of energies... one very last promise.... one last smile... and then... 😭 😭 😭 The last scene with Chang Yi imagining how it could have been to be free to go back to the Merman world together was not necessary... but it is more a kind of consolation for those who wanted to have a sort of happy ending this way. Cheers...!
It's not an open ending. Ji Yunhe really was back. Did you listen to heavenly king? He said his sister Shunde was already dispersed. Ji Yunhe don't die she was just sealed and waiting for Shunde soul to be disperse.
What a unsatisfactory ending, so rush, no explanation of how she got her tail, and how she came back. We watched patiently all the episodes, so looking forward to a well deserved happy ending, the production has totally failed the viewers.
