I always get excited when I listen to her, she is a gem in music, a very talented and fighter young lady. She should be a source of inspiration for young generations, she really is already, but we need much more, this world needs young people like Emma, Dimash, Amira, Lucy, Mori,... Thanks Paul, I also got excited thanks to your words before listening to Emma. I hope you're doing well and have a nice weekend 👏👋
You did a reaction recently to the Margraten cemetery with fallen American soldiers. 8301 American liberators are buried there. It is one of the largest cemeteries in Europe That is where Emma Kok was singing a tribute to. You saw in that small documentary that they searched for photos of the fallen soldiers to put on the grave. They searched for family members in the US to provide them the photos of the fallen soldiers. What you probably dont know is that Dutch families adopt a grave of a fallen American soldier. Why would they do that you might think ? They adopt a grave because they are grateful for our liberation. Those families keep the grave of a fallen soldier clean and bring the fallen soldier flowers. They can also adopt a fallen soldier on who is on the walls of the missing persons. The Margraten cemetery has an educational program too for young children to tell them about World War 2. It is an initiative that goes out from their schools and those young children bring the fallen soldiers flowers as well. On the anonymous graves it says "Here Lies In Honored Glory A Comrade In Arms Only Known To God" This cemetery is for the 8301 American liberators alone. I dont know how many Canadian and British liberators died in my country and if they have a separate cemeteries for them. It is safe to say a lot of soldiers died liberating my country. In Europe we are as free as Americans are. We are are a social democracy where everyone gets to be who he / she wants to be and is free to express their opinion. One of our mayors said it best. "You really know what freedom is when you have been occupied by an enemy". A big thank you to all the American, Canadian and British liberators and thank you for your service Paul.
Thanks for this comment , bedankt en mooi gesproken , veel reageren op Emma's lieden van herdenkingen maar weten niet waarom de graven er zijn en gerespecteerd worden door ons volk .
You explained this wonderfully. I knew the history of Margraten, and have learned more by researching Emma's involvement with the 4th / 5th May commemorations, as well her involvement in things like The Children's Story Telling Day at Madurodam. I did not know the wording on the anonymous graves and this is very moving. Thank you for telling us that. In England we have our remembrance day in November; but the Dutch do it much better. All of Europe is grateful for the sacrifice of those who liberated Europe; and I should add that, having worked in Hamburg for a while, German colleagues have equally strongly said to me "thank goodness you [we] won". As a consequence the German people are also free.
I love your Emma reactions; thank you so much. You are a very genuine person who gives honest heartfelt opinions. Emma recently sang the best version of John Lennon's Imagine I have ever heard. Before she stood up to sing, Emma was asked why she chose 'Imagine'. Emma explained how it fits with the way she feels and hopes for the world; "that it's especially bad in the world right now [with wars and conflict] so what is important is that we are just a little bit nicer to each other and that we treat each other better." The performance of 'Imagine' was live on the 'Carrie on Friday' show aired at 7 pm on 25th October and as well as Emma singing 'Imagine' it was preceded by a nice interview. Here are the links - I hope you consider reacting to Emma's 'Imagine, it is absolutely beautiful. Singing 'Imagine' - th-cam.com/video/xpAIqyDybhk/w-d-xo.html The interview is more for interest I guess. Emma talks about her illness, the bullying she endured, her world tour with Andre Rieu, and how she deals with school work while travelling the world Interview (with accurate English subtitles) - th-cam.com/video/QUOzSj4_wFw/w-d-xo.html You may be interested to know that Emma's appearance on 'Carrie On Friday' was on the same day that Emma announced at 5 pm on social media, her first major show in her own right which will be in a year's time on 21st October 2025. It will be at Amsterdam's Concertgebouw (Royal Concert Hall) in Amsterdam. To put into context how prestigious this venue is, Mahler, Richard Strauss and Stravinsky have conducted there. Rachmaninoff, Leonard Bernstein, Yehudi Menuhin, and Ella Fitzgerald have all performed there. Its superb acoustics place it among the finest concert halls in the world, along with Boston's Symphony Hall and the Musikverein in Vienna. The venue is naturally protective of its reputation so performers have to submit a resume etc to be considered to be allowed to put on an event there. Presumably Emma's appearance on TV was partly to kick-start a year of ticket sales ahead of her concert. However, by the time Emma stood up to sing 'Imagine', after less than 3 hours since her first announcement, Emma's show was already fully sold out! Fortunately I saw her 5 pm announcement so by 5:15 pm I had my tickets. My wife and I will travel from the UK to Amsterdam for the show. I am aware of others travelling from other parts of Europe as well as some from the USA. How cool is that. 😃

Thank you and nicely spoken, many respond to Emma's people of commemorations but do not know why the graves are there and are respected by our people.
