Stephan & Rob, This is exactly how I understand the efficiency of what we do. I try to apply biomechanics to fine tune what I’ve been taught and I pass it on to the students that want to know the “why” behind each movement. Thank you for the tutorial and keep producing these high quality videos.

I remember being taught to use the 'thumbs up' on the arm bar. This variation seems much stronger. Thank you!

Good video. These concepts of twisting, crushing and/or extending (removing slack) the body or target limb are also a big part of Catch wrestling.

I assume this principle works for blood chokes as well? They're usually a compression and then we add some kind of extension and rotation as well? Wish I could test it in training right now.

Stephan, thanks a bunch, but you should consider to use a darker (grey, blue, black, etc.) background in your recording dojo, 'cause this white glare is killing us. Cheers!

Yo Stephen your website is insanely difficult to navigate and very glitchy...and everyone has trouble finding the login

    1. Rotate thumb away from head of opponent.
    2. Wedge knees away from head of opponent.
    3. Pull head of opponent with heel.
Everything is away from head of opponent. Nice technique.
