You have an absolutely amazing interpretation of his videos. Just to inform you and everyone interested in ians struggles wich obviously play into his art. He not only struggles with bipolar but also DID(dissociative identity disorder) so Mito and everything is real. He’s basically pouring his heart out on what he’s going through and fighting since a long time in a fantasized and artful way of course but it is real.
@meishan8734 he did a live a while back, I'm not sure exactly when it was but I saw clips of it on TikTok he basically said he struggles with DID and hadn't mentioned it much previously because he was scared of what people would think of him or something along those lines
I liked that mirror theory! It can also be backed up by a scene in Scaredy Cat when he's singing into the microphone and they do a quick pan to the reflective ceiling in which you see Mito!
Just to throw it out there, Ian wasn't having a panic attack. He was having a manic episode. Christian talks about his diagnosis of bipolar (im using the term bipolar because its the most common word perople use and understand) and mentions that the scene of him in the hotel room is about when his episodes come at the worst times. Like right in the middle of him being kidnapped.

Why does mito try to take control of/torment ian the most out of all the others, was mito jealousy of ian the cause of his exile? 7. In scaredy cat’s music video you can tell when mito takes control because in the reflection you can see the white eye but in times where mito isn’t controlling him he is mostly in a stray jacket, that might be because when he’s himself he feels unhinged but when mito takes control he’s more relax(probably why he’s more confortable dancing and singing, when talking about the issues when scaredy cat sings he looks like he’s really being affect by what he’s saying) These are just random shit that I think about it might not be serious or fit in but I just wanted to share just in case someone feels the same.

As the theory above said and in the Part 2, too, Mito wanna ruin Mr. Insanity's creation and in order for him to do that, he has to save his host (Ian) and become much stronger, or there could be another reason why he's saving Ian, or is he?
I don't really know all the story but I saw somewhere that the reason why in the beginning of his mv his name was reflected was because when he is behind the camera his name is normal but when he's filmed the text is reversed to represent his perspective
The reason the words are always turned around is so that he can show you what's inside. I believe this year or last year I heard from the horse's mouth the reason everything is flipped for music videos is to kind of just show the audience that you are now on the other side.

ARE U PPL HIRING??? because i felt so recognised. i dont have bipolar disorder but i have always felt me being different person with different ppl and situations and the character mitto is what i feel when feel my lowest and mr insanitys use of colours and the use of lights and sparks in his mv is what i feel when i am not technically happy but like when i think i am in my highest or happiest moment idk how to explain . well love this guy and thanks for your interpretation

Little update: He also has DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder) in short he has multiple personalities, which means that Mito, Insanity and the others are real (they are his alters). The biggest trigger to make them front is when he goes into a manic low or high (That's why DID and bipolar can come hand in hand) . When he goes low the trauma he went thought will resurface because his body and mind won't be in a great condition that's when Mito comes to protect him. He is what we call a "persecutor alter" because he holds all the traumas that Ian couldn't handle. And when he goes manic high it will trigger Insanity to come (Obviously they can front for multiples things, even a little thing can make them come to the front). They are their own person, love different things, talk differently, like and dislike different things...
Finally someone talking using DID terminology. I wondered, is MITO really a persecutor or only a persecutor? Him holding traumatic memories and being the "guardian" (I think Christian said that in one of his lives if I remember well), isn't MITO a traumaholder and a protector and/or a persecutor? And also, it seems that the one that causes some trouble is Mr. Insanity, so maybe Insanity is a persecutor? I don't know about the other alters but I have just these ideas about these 2 alters, what do you think?

From what I understand Mito is the Persecutor Alter because that word means that he holds all the trauma, Ian said in a live that Mito had a dark personality and a dark aura because he has to carry all the traumatic experiences, he also is the guardian obviously. As for Insanity is not the persecutor in the DID world Persecutor doesn't mean that you are a troublemaker it means that you hold the trauma it's a scientific way to say it but yes insanity is the one that can cause some trouble but he is the one that will front when Ian is in a life or death situation to make them survive! He also said that he has another alter but he doesn't want to say his name yet

Honestly, as a new fan of DPR, I had a small gist of what the lore might be but you made everything just so so so much clearer so thank you so much for that!! After watching the 'So I Danced' MV (SID), I feel like your theory towards the end makes so much sense because I'm assuming that the character in SID is Mr. Insanity and throughout the MV he's trying to get the key to open the door with the green man. And maybe that door leads to the same room that Ian entered when he opened the door at the end of the Mito Movie Part 1, meaning he probably saw Mr. Insanity there.
