He rides too short and he's not riding the center of the horse. The posting trot is unnecessary since riding the trot is easier on the horse. Heels down is the worst thing a rider can do! When he canters the horse, he's obviously half a beat behind the horse! Very poor example of proper polo equitation!
Your stirrups need to be short in polo because you have to be standing up in them most of the time, along with leaning off the side of the horse. The rising trot is the easiest trot for the horse, so I’m not sure what you mean there. I don’t think his eq is perfect by any means, but a defensive riding position can be useful in polo with all the quick stops and turns. It’s better to be behind your horse than to be ahead of them.

so the game actually originated in India, Manipur. It was the British colonizers who spread the game to other commonwealth countries.

In polo you use the back part of your heel rather than your whole foot. Also to adopt a half seat your toes usually will point outwards.
