    Wish I had the room for 2 rail O scale... Going to have to settle for S scale... And that's NOT a bad thing... Great stuff thanks for posting. Happy Holidays.

    Excellent as always! I do remember the old B&O, those blue and yellow diesels. They used to bring in boxcars to where my Daddy worked. I would see B&O trains in Pittsburgh and Youngstown when he would come home (usually a Friday) and announce that we were going to visit the stores in one or the other. Wow - the memories.

    Gotta tell ya...these bring back a lot of memories back when the Met, the OML, and sometimes the Alexandria Branch had helpers all day long.
    Your videos look like ultra-clean conversions of Rich Clark's stuff from back in the day.

      I remember those days well! Spent my best railfanning years chasing trains between Boyd's and Brunswick (79-83). We actually hiked the tracks a few times and camped along the way (crazy considering we were 8th-10th grade!). Trains woke us up all night and we didn't care. Didn't own a decent camera then either...we were just excited to be out there watching trains. Rode helpers from Brunswick to Gaithersburg and back one Sunday afternoon. Friendly crews...simple times.

      @@Industrialmodels2 We used to camp out in my buddy's back yard on 48th St in Riverdale in the 70's and we'd haul ass up to Lafayette by 32R when they'd blow for Queensbury, Melrose and Decatur. Once we stole 2 torpedoes from JD, cut one up with a bandsaw and left one whole. Train went through and it was pop,...pop...pop...boom! Dumb ass kids...

      @@TheJpec361 That's awesome...if only we could turn back the clock. I spent a lot of time at JD back in the mid 80's while at the U of MD. There was a very friendly operator there on the 2nd trick (Allen Brougham). I have a lot of pics from that era...mostly corroded Chessie junk. Still fun to hang out in the tower and see operations.

      @@Industrialmodels2 I remember Allen being there once in a while. Back then it was mainly Steve Reed, Bob Uhland, Jr and Mike "Saucerman" Maser. We didn't go there much in the mornings, there were 2 older guys that while they weren't mean just weren't as friendly as the others and would shoo you away from the door. There could be 10 trains on the lineup but they'd always say nothing was coming.

      @Industrialmodels2  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TheJpec361 Ha-ha yes, I believe it. I met Maser but I think Uland was gone by the time I got there. I have 2 train sheet log books from JD that documented traffic going up and down the branch in 72' that have those names in them. I wish I had grabbed more. I gave one of the towers on the layout the "JD" name. Its in one of my vids.

    Another sweet video of heavy mountain railroading. MTH GP30 body on Atlas GP35 frame?

    • @Industrialmodels2
      @Industrialmodels2  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s a Lionel shell on Atlas body....very easy conversion!

    • @yardhog
      @yardhog 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Industrialmodels2, nice work for sure. I noticed my MTH GP30 is a tad thicker on the long hood than the Atlas GP35. Is the Lionel GP30 long hood the same as the Atlas GP35 for width? If it is, time to sell my MTH and go with the Lionel.

    • @Industrialmodels2
      @Industrialmodels2  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@yardhog not sure as I have not had a chance to measure the MTH. But the Lionel drops onto the Atlas chassis with very little modification. File off some tabs with the dremel....easy

    • @yardhog
      @yardhog 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Industrialmodels2, now that's some info I can use. Thanks. I know the hood width difference on the GP40 to the GP35 is at least an eight of an inch different. MTH GP40 being the fatter of the two. Reminds me of the old Athearn fat hoods on their GP9 and GP35's.

      @Industrialmodels2  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@yardhog you'll see once you get going....there are some metal tabs on the front and rear of the Atlas frame that need to be filed down....some plastic on the Lionel. I have pics somewhere....if I can find them I will post on my Facebook page....industrialmodels
