I spent a lot of time in the jungle in Nepal and realised that most of the big animals don't make much noise. Elephants, rhinos and tigers can attack without warning, so you need to stay alert. I've uploaded plenty of videos about all this on my channel.
Nice video. It's really amazing and surprising that elephants are such stealthy creatures (when they want to be of course). I have a question.. do you think your dog's (or dogs on general) can smell elephants before they hear them? I'm sure they could smell bulls in musk but what about others?
Hi oliver. Good question. Yes dogs can surely be trained for that. Organizations like DogsinConservation wD4c.org do things like that(we hope to work with them in the future). You would ofourse have to be downwind to the elephants and thats not always the case. Also Musth is a seasonal thing, but generally elephants have a very characteristic smell which is easy to detect.
